Why not? I realise there are far fewer options than in previous cods, but I was able to gain upwards of 30 additional FPS on a game like ghosts with a config.

Just turn your monitor off.

This mentality is why there are hardly no more dedicated PC games. With consoles the game is made for specific hardware. If you dont have that hardware you cant play, period.

The PC community for some reason thinks that if a computer powers on they should be able to play any game they want, If the game devs locked the games in such a way that required a system to meet requirments then more people would maybe upgrade in order to play with their freinds, or not.....either way avid PC players will not have to deal with such a sliding scale of loading times and other anomalies related to extremely slow computers.

Dont get me started on internet lag these same people seem to bring with their 5+ year old systems.

Dont whine about my grammar and spelling. I dont care.

Damn, people like you are the reason I hate this community.

None of that really answers my question to be honest. So far I've changed the following cvars:

seta r_lodScaleSkinned "4"
seta r_lodBiasSkinned "0"
seta r_lodScaleRigid "4"
seta r_lodBiasRigid "0"

Introduces pop-in, which actually can help with visiblity and makes FPS higher.

Most CoD games have additional cvars that aren't listed in the .cfg by default, that's the main thing I wanted out of this post. I guess most of the serious community members that know the engine left?

I'm actually trying to reach 144fps, to match my 144Hz monitor. There were always so many things that could be changed to reduce input lag, increase fps.

Now the config doesn't even show things like cl_packetdup, which could remove packet duplication and reduce ping provided that you had no packet loss/internet issues.

I'll look into testing some cvars from older games to see where I land. Would be nice if the game had a developer console like many of the other games, but hopefully some of the dudes who did the fps cfgs for AW will step in, too.

+1
I don't know why people even bother commenting if they're not going to help. I'll dig into the config file and see what I can find.

Not everyone has the luxury to do so.

Hey bro have you found a solution? These setting you wrote here give any results? I remember there was r_lodscale in CoD 2 and in lodscale 4 there was no grass and any things like this but it was prohibited in clan matches like max allowed r_lodscale for clan matches was 2 there was some commands to set bias that made your textures on walls into simple solids if you know what i mean.

Edit:
And how Steam can react to changing these values? Can it be treated as cheats by Steam? CoD 2, MW(4) and World at War were not on Steam so there was no problem with this.

you cant get banned for editing a config file. There are some other variables not listed by default, such as cg_drawSun 0, which works in every cod

What they should do is like other more competetive games, LOCK THE CFG. If someone hacks it then it is detected and instant ban. There are things that can be done with glare, smoke, color, tick rate, etc., in the cfg on many games and many Cod's that can give a player an advantage with visibility and other things. I haven't tested WWII but that is why most companies leave this stuff out now. A player shouldn't be able to lower the detail to an extent of taking away vegetation, shadows, darkness, etc.....
Ayano Keiko 47 Nov 30, 2017 @ 4:03am
it may be an advantage, but not an unfair one
