You or your friends' NAT is probably strict or moderate. To get your NAT to Open, open up the ports on your modem and/or router.

Same thing, opened ports and sometimes the game jumps from Moderate NAT to Strict. Even tho we were playing BETA without any problems.

If opening ports doesn't work, try giving your PCs static IPs and setting up DMZ for them.

or you look on the front page of the forums and see that 75% of players are having this issue so it's obviously not on our ends.

I have my PC in DMZ and still even strict and sometimes moderate
This is SHG's issue

Static IP worked for me.

Hi, I was having the same problem. It is probably because neither of you have an Open nat type. Go under settings -> system info to confirm. If this is true, one of you needs to look up how to portforward your router and open UDP port 3074 to "Open" your nat type. This should fix your issues.
