how to fight with the german soldier...? I'm blocked just before the last part of D-Day mission...

Battle of the Bulge you are sniping the German Panzerschreck. What I can remember there is no fight with a german soldier in a bunker. Are you sure it is this mission?

These are difficult fights and there are a few throughout the game. I use an XBox controller and I spam (press quickly and repeatedly) the X button which is the melee button until I fight the German soldier off. He then fights with my friend and stabs him and then he attacked me again and I did the same thing spamming the X button until 2 circles show and I moved the left stick which moved the small circle into the big circle and it then showed what button I had to press and once I pressed that button I picked up the helmet and bashed him in the head and won the fight. I had to be quick to pres that button as being slow the German would have killed me which he did the first time until I learned what to do.

I got through that one but had a lot of problems with another one later in the game where I needed to do the small circle inside the big circle and press the button which showed twice during the fight. That was extremely hard and frustrating but I would do it and then take a break and relax and then try again. I don't like being beaten so I was determined to win it and finally I did but I cannot remember how many times I tried before I won, it was so many I lost count. However, that mission turned out to be one of my favourite missions in the game.

If you are using keyboard and mouse you must spam whatever the melee button is and move the mouse which will move the small circle inside the big circle and then press whatever button shows but you must be fairly quick when doing it. So you must identify the button to press and press it as soon as it shows.

My advice is to use a controller to play the game. There are many things throughout the game which would be easier using a controller than keyboard and mouse. Especially when you need to drive a tank later in the game.

Edit: Here is a video which shows the fight and it is a while since I played and I had forgotten that you need to move the small circle inside the big circle 2 times to be able to win the fight. The first is just moving it inside and the second is when it shows a button to press. The fight I mentioned above I had to do that 2 times as well but then press a button on each occasion. Anyway, here is the video, it doesn't show he is spamming the melee button but he is doing that to fight with the German soldier.

I also suggest you persevere fighting with the German soldier until you can kill him. Just take a break if you get frustrated and nervous and when you relax try again. They are not easy and can be very frustrating but it is a wonderful game so don't let the German stop you and be determined and you will eventually kill him.

I've worn out the Q (melee) and F keys. The circles are aligned and still no success. I don't know what is meant by "Spam" key, and there is no keyboard setting for it. This is ridiculous. I have a life to return to.

Therefore, can anyone please explain how to get through this scene using a keyboard and mouse? Please be specific. Thank you! Doc

I also had trouble with these. Each time the button prompt reaches the largest circle: I tap the F key twice like I'm double clicking a mouse button. Do this for each button circle flash, and you should pass the dumb events.

Thank you Sir! It is a dumb and contrived event. My solution was to ignore the circles entirely (until I needed the helmet) and rapidly punch the Q and F keys alternately as fast as I could using two fingers; tap Q, then tap F, then tap Q and tap F quickly! Thanks again, Doc
