Irritating as hell that they cannot create a real common shell.
I dunno that an official reason has ever been announced, but I would guess it's mainly so the hardcore MP crowd doesn't have to download SP content they don't care about. CoD market seems mostly MP based, and it kinda surprises me they still offer SP content.
IIRC even the pre-Steam games were split, dunno if it goes all the way back to the original CoD as I don’t have that installed. I have since replaced all other disk installs with their Steam versions.
Pretty sure though that even the older games were split - CoD2 and MW.
But I agree that the currently it is a feature to alow players to remove the SP once they are finished (or ignore it completely).
Come to think of it I still have to finish Ghosts, start BO2, BO3, finish AW, start IW. Last SP I enjoyed were BO and MW2, MW3 was ok I guess...
Hmm, guess I’ll try a CoD SP retrospective this winter and play all CoD SP campaigns again.
Yeah, like Infinite Warfare and Black Ops 3 right? I, and others just want one game in our library.
You can manually disable the SP like you can in Black Ops 3 at the properties menu.
