Use controller just for this mission. I did it, too. Mouse and Keyboard sucks totally at flying.

Controller will be fine I guess. I went through that mission with mouse and keyboard and couldn´t believe how bad I am. After about 10th try I just tried not to move too much and somehow took down two enemies. I just kept on flying forward and did nothing else, it helped a lot trying to do nothing :-D Very nice mission :-D

By default the yaw is inverse so up is down and down is up, but the game will ask you if you want to change that so up is up and down is down, that was easier for me, so simply move the mouse in the direction you want the plane to take and then w is accelerate and s is decelerate. Simple.

Press Tab to highlight enemy planes marked with German crosses. Right click or zoom and shoot your bullets just ahead of the enemy planes trajectory so as to lead your shots and they will be down in no time.

You can also get close to the plane and lock on so the game will automatically keep you behind the plane, but dont rely on it, shooting down planes by shooting ahead of their trajectory is much faster and is best for the achievement to personally shoot 12 of them.

Its about aiming in the enemy planes trajectory and shooting while also decelerating if you get to close to the enemy plane you want, tricky at first but you get the hang of it eventually.

I wouldnt want to skip this level as its the best part of the mission! The sound effects and visuals are awesome! I love this whole mission in general to be honest, its my favourite.

Oversteering is a problem using the mouse. I suppose that could depend on the mouse resolution or settings, but try to move it only in small increments.

Leading your shots so that the bullets land on target is the key. Tab to target, then watch the crosshairs - it will turn RED when you have the correct lead distance to fire and connect with your target.
