How long do CoD games usually last on PC?
Like in regards to the online community staying alive. I want to buy this, but I'm also worried that the comunity will die fast.

About a month or two. The breaking point usually comes at the same time as the first DLC hits (because it splits the community), sometimes sooner (but only if the game is particualrly bad). After that only main game mode (usually team deathmatch) is playable. The numbers on this one are looking surprisingly good though. Only time will tell if it will last much longer than those that came before.

Depends on which one. AW was dead quick. BO3 I was still playing up to 4 months ago. DLC is a problem though because a lot of people, myself included wont buy it.

Call of duty multiplayer usually dies when the first dlc map pack is released. That's when the multiplayer community becomes divided. It's hard to play cod multiplayer when Activision releases a new cod game each year for 60 euro and then 4 map packs priced at 14,99 for each cod game.

As soon as the first map pack is released, this game is gonna have around 8-10k players, and when the second one comes, it will have 5k at most.
It depends what you mean by last, certainly player counts drop but there's always enough enthusiasts to get enjoyable matches.

People still enjoy Black Ops III and even world at war!

People say they die within a month or two, but I feel they're either comparing it to Infinite Warfare and ignoring the rest, or exaggerating, or they haven't played the others. If it's a good CoD game, it will last a couple of years. I can still find matches in Black Ops II, for example. If it's a mediocre one like Ghosts or Infinite Warfare, it won't last long.

For me the game is "dead" when I can no longer play game modes I want whenever I want. Probably should have clarified that. Sometimes I have spare time in the morning or late at night, and I'm often very much busy during my region's prime time. So the moment the game goes to "you can only play 1 game mode and only during prime time" it's over for me.

Then you're looking at approx 2 years I'd say going by Black ops 3. Maybe more if it's loved by the fans.

We ignore last years infinite warfare because everybody hated it!

I can find a fun match pretty much anytime in WaW even now!

@xX-Mikuru Beam-Xx I don't have BO3, so I don't know how well it did. Pretty much all the other CoDs went away much sooner than I was done with them. Maybe I remember it wrong, but to me it felt like they did die "within 2 month" more or less. Except for the MW2, that one lasted almost half a year. ... ... It probably also depends on where you live. Being from Russia I can see how my experience may be different from yours.

By Black Ops III, a lot of people were already tired of the futuristic setting and were asking for WWII to come back. I'd say this will last longer than Black Ops III, even though I think it's sad Black Ops III wasn't more popular, what with Treyarch giving people map tools, modding, player-hosted dedicated servers, and split-screen.

imagine someone inventing a pickpocket method, then go to court and patton it.

this is what activion did, they will allow you to buy items while in the middle of the match, if you happen to see a pro player who kills you with it(or whatever expanion it came with).

when u are at your most weak vanrouable state after a 5 deathsteak, you would want to buy something to get you that item...

notonly that, but the system would put you againt experiance players...

there are already plans to bycote the game once for all

Let's worry about that if they add guns to lootboxes. Everything right now is purely cosmetic, and the patent never mentioned anything about weapons; just items in general.

Depends om the game. People still play BO2 multiplayer on PC and that game was released 5 years ago.

If the multiplayer is half decent it should last at least a year until the next CoD just like on consoles.

But on PC you can actually still go back and play multiplayer in older CoD's right now on the good ones.

I got all the DLCs in advanced warfare and was still able to find matches in tdm and dom all the way up til bo3 came out when there was only like max 2k players online. with a boots on the ground world war 2 call o duty I would expect there to be more than only 2k people on a time.

If this was another futuristic type affair i wouldnt have even bought it. The fact that its back to WW2 is where its long life will be.
