Flight Controls
Any tips on how to set my mouse controls to get through the flying portion of the single player campaign. Any help would be appreciated.

I had to switch over to the gamepad for the flight section, it's really aweful on the mouse. I mean, it's literally unplayable.

Yeah I don't see how they expect people to shoot down anything in that scenario. Thanks for the decent comment, I have put comments out there and then usually get attacked by somebody.

This is quite awhile after the game came out, and I completed the Battle of the Bulge mission; I am now trying to win the achievment and , like you guys and others, the flying with the mouse and keyboard sucks. Was much better in Ghosts.
So my question is: Have either of you tried a regular Joy Stick ?? Just to see if it Might work?

I am going to a gamepad and if that doesn't help, I may try some other controller, such as a joystick. Thanks for your question.

I have tried a Joy stick (Logitech Extreme 3D Pro) and it DOES NOT work: it isn't recognized by the game. Nuts.

I'm having same problem can't fly plane battle of bulge dosen't respond to keyboard or mouse. Don't have game pad as I could never use them properly due to too big of a hand and fingers. Any patches around

Did you go through the tutorial of ascend, descend etc at the start? And if so, did you do it really carefully - no big movement of the mouse, just very slight changes? If you can get through that the next suggestion is to reduce the DPI of you mouse waaaayyyy down while flying; it does help. I haven't won the achievment yet, but did a lot better last night getting 9 or 10 enemies the last couple play throughs. Still really frustrating.

Guys, I have pretty much given up with this achievement. Thanks for the input. I have a new post titles F'in Flyboys if you are interested in reading my rant about this.

I'm there too and it is extremely frustrating. This part of the game does not seem well thought out. I will lower the DPI on mouse and see if that helps.

You can also try changing the Mouse sensitivity in the games settings menu. It didn't make much difference to me, but might be worth a try.

Haven't see any replies from you for awhile; I have been trying, with very limited success/improvement, the following two trick. I set my mouse DPI (tried this with both my Corsair Glaive and old Logitech G500) to about 130 DPI on the lowest setting and that has helped a bit.
Also, I stopped using lock-on and just fly into the fight and "try" to shoot down the Me109's: Only problem with that, mentioned in my earlier post F'in Flyboys is for some reason as you are fighting, perhaps when flak or the enemy shoot me, the plane moves into-and- out of right-click (magnified) mode -- really messes up the dog fight.
Did you switch to a game pad and if so werre you able to get the achievement?

I went into settings and changed the mouse sensitivity up to 10 (Max) same as with the tank mission and it made it a bit easier to control. Use small movements of the mouse and press right button to zoom into enemy planes.

For me I inverted the mouse settings and lowered the DPI on my mouse so that the settings were not as sensitive. Also, I found that turning and banking with the mouse made the plane much easier to control. Only use W and S to control speed. Don't press the A and D keys.

To fly the plane I lightly use my finger tips at the end of my mouse because how touchy the X-Y axis are while using keyboard and mouse

Is it better to have a wired mouse or wireless or does it really matter?
