To set your enemies on fire? Worked out nicely in the bunker where I found the first flame thrower, can't say I've encountered it outside of that though.

Are you finding it a bit weak compared to the one on World at War? I did..

I'm finding the part after covering Zussman, where they rush both your flanks, utterly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Whilst they're on fire, they tagging me like ♥♥♥♥. So the flamethrower isn't that viable on veteran.

Oh, yeah I get what you mean. I ran in and torched the place then spammed a few grenades and got real lucky. It seems like the current go-to for "difficulty" is making the enemy a superior bullet sponge (or in this case highly fire resistant), and constantly knowing where the player is just like some one using a wall hack on multiplayer. It really sucks, but it is a nice feeling when you get past it lol.

I've been playing on console with my wife and found that there is a contextual cover system (go to edge of wall and hit aim to lean). Not too sure it'd be of use to you here but maybe duck and cover like that while spamming grenades then hop up and torch the place (basically the opposite of what I did). Or the less appealing option of just forget about the flame thrower... (I really hate that option lol.)

The main problem I'm having is the limited space in this area, there's barely anywhere for me to go and then I get swamped by 8 Germans because your teammates don't seem to kill anyone.
I much prefer this to the infinite barrage of grenades I remember from CODs such as WaW.

Yeah that whole having a useless squad bit gets to me as well. And I completely agree, the difficulty in this is much more preferable to the grenade spam the enemies in previous games used. Though if they threw a couple grenades you could toss them back and find yourself in luck lol.

The more I think on it, it would probably be best for you to grab an mg42 or ppsh and use the cover system to pop shots until the job's done. Though I suspect you've already tried it a few times. Wish I could offer a for sure way to get through it with minimal issue.

That's the only bit I've had trouble with so far, ended up doing it by camping prone next to the brick wall down on the left, popping smoke on me, and believe it or not, spamming the flamthrower on the final rush. Ended up completing it with ~15% health.

I have found the flame thrower and the npc's to be utterly useless I just sit back behind some rocks and pop off Germans as they come up ♥♥♥♥ the flame thrower ♥♥♥♥ douche bad giving orders ♥♥♥♥ the ♥♥♥♥ with the glasses by the m1grand just sit back by the rubble and pray to god they at least distract the Germans enough for you to kill them O_O

My point is whilst they are on fire they can still shoot you. On veteran that's a big problem.

You don't seem to understand, when you shoot at them with the flamethrower they will shoot you back since it's damage-over-time, rather then an instant death. Probably not the slightest problem on other difficulties.

I think you're missing the point. Veteran difficulty is supposed to be challenging.

Challenging, yes. Making a gun near pointless whilst being told to use it (you don't *have* to use it though) repeatedly, no.
