COD: WW2 won't launch (Running, Syncing and then, nothing)
Hello guys,

I have a big problem with the game.

When I installed it some days ago, I wasn't able to play. When I tried to launch the game, Steam said the game is running, then syncing and nothing happened.

Then, I do not know why, it worked. And today, it doesn't work, it's stille Running, Syncing and then nothing.

What can I do to fix it ? I already tried to uninstall/install Redistribuable, DirectX. I also checked local game files, nothing seems working.

Thanks,

Same issue here. Windows 10, RX480 8gb

EDIT: Same issue except mine has not worked at all. Just keeps "running" "syncing" "running" etc

Have you guys tried restarting your PC's?

Only about four times.

Update: After I went into the redist folder and installed the directx update and the vcredist updates, and rebooted a couple times, and swore in two different languages, AND THEN unchecked "run as administrator" on the singleplayer exe, it finally started. Been at it since 1am, it's 8am now, finished the third mission and I'm off to bed. Best of luck.

tl;dr: It seems if you stick to it and try a bunch of stuff, it will eventually run. Might help if you just initially offer your first born to Satan though.

I just reinstalled it and it worked fine

Open taskmanager, and see if when you try to run the game, it sounds like steam is breaking trying to sync the game. Disable Cloud Sync.

First of all, thanks for your help.

Yesterday, I tried deleting every files starting with a month name in the directX folder. After rebooting, I've been able to play, but today, it doesn't work.

I tried disabling the Cloud Syncing, but it doesn't work and the game doesn't show up in Task Manager.

EDIT: It shows up as a background process.

Try installing directx again. I did it twice. Then reboot again, and make sure you're NOT running the SP exe as admin.

Just finished singleplayer.

Arrrgghhhhh. Tons of issues - most of all I'm quite angry with myself because I purchased this game - I should have learned my lesson by now regarding COD games.

I would suggest doing the following, Go on https://community.activision.com/t5/Call-of-Duty-World-War-II/bd-p/cod-wwii-support-forum

Post what your issue is with a Basic title (such as, Game not launching but is running on processes), then list what you've tried doing, and post the following, Open RUN and type in DXIAG and click the "SAVE ALL INFORMATION" And add that file, to your post (Dont copy paste the text file information, put the file as an attachment) (incase you dont know dxdiag shows all your system specs including driver updates and issues,w hich is why listing your specs never helps but dxdiag does)

Hello Tenko,

Thanks for your time and your answer, I'll do that and post the link here so the others with this problem can eventually find a fix.

Thanks again !

You're welcome, on steam theres a handful of Moderators and mayby only 1 or 2 devs that actually peak in. Moderators are only good for keeping things that violate steam policy out and usually butt heads with people who know waht their doing, You could try looking up aswell other places that the CoD Forums are, and post there aswell to give you a broader sheet,

Also want to ask, have you tried running the game in safe mode, OR started the game, and just let it sit (in the proceses) to see if its just taking a wierd amount of time opening?

I tried running it in safe mode using "-safe" in the launch settings
