Local Play is playing on the same network, or what we used to call LAN party. Does this game actually let you play on a LAN?

I've seen on one site that Local Play lets you play 2 person split screen in zombies and multiplayer, so long as you have at least one controller.

Based on what I've seen, it lets you do two person zombies and two person multiplayer in split screen. I don't know if you can do split screen AND play online though (it sounds like you can't).

I have no idea, it's certainly not split screen thats for sure. So annoyed right now.

I think it's just LAN, and they've decided "Hey, lets tag the game as LOCAL everything because LAN has the word LOCAL in it"

I am sorry to necro this thread but I have a problem connected to local play I wanted to ask if anybody knows the solution

so I got Stinger and Automaton from supply drops and when I go to online MP I can choose them but in Local Play they are locked... wtf is this? How else am I gonna unlock those guns for local play? I already dropped them from crates FFS!
