Is there the option for dedicated private servers?
Can I host my own server for people to play on? Or is it only through IW renting a server?

Or even worse, are there no player controlled servers and only official IW ran servers?

Or worst case scenario- are there no servers at all and it's just a P2P connection ♥♥♥♥-show?

They won't. They want the game to expire in value when they release the next iteration. Private servers allow players to create longevity and internal community which is the antithesis of consumerism.

I'm sure there is a better way to say what I said above, but the premise is that replayability in their eyes NOW is DLC's and the next release.

Interesting that the mechanism might be there, but no way they'll let you make them yourself.
