Another Lie
COD: WW2 seemed to be perfect, the game was returning to the roots of the series, it only got better when sledgehammer promised a realistic and authentic european setting. It seemed great as a fan of both older Call of duty's and the Battlefield series. However after seeing gameplay i am dissapointed. In no way does COD Ww2 meet the crition of any of the promised labels. If you dont believe me go see for yourself compared to any of the original COD's this is a disgrace.
Heres some main reasons

-Women, yes im aware that there was sporadic events of women in historical battles but compared to men it was a small contribution for example (USA 250k Women in Non-combat roles 16 died in enemy fire, while over 265k men died in battle) (USSR: Over 500k women in mixed roles in chaos of eastern front, while a estimated number of over 10 million mostly men soldiers died in combat) While women were a important role in war, it is untrue to both men and women themselves to put them on the beaches of normandy or in the towns of france.

-Wierd Attachments and modifications, from gameplay shown ive seen, Trench mag Mausers, Full auto Lugers, Thompsons with drum mag's and silencers, and MP-40's equiped with silencers. These weapons miss the mark of authenticity all of these include prototype parts and modifications that were extremely rare and impossible to find a whole unit of soldiers all equiped with items like this. Even so sledgehammer misses important used weapons such as the De Lisle carbine ,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Lisle_carbine, a bolt action subsonic rifle with a detachable mag, or latter versions of the Sten that included a internal suppresor and sub-sonic ammo. These weapons would allow COD to showcase lesser known weapons similar to the system used to add variety to BF1's weapons.

-Floaty Gunplay, from gameplay shown many weapons seem to lack impact, or power while the gore looks great, corpses dont recieve the impact or power of the round (Look at Rising storm 2 for good impact) , and low recoil doesnt show the firerate and power being fired from the weapon's.

-Censorship, there are no swasticas to be found even on the german city maps, just look at photos swasticas and flags were everywhere its blantant censorship to remove them, or if in the case of germany lazy to not make a patch specific to that country. Theres a saying "Those who do not know history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them" censorship doesnt prevent nazi ideas only allows them to be forgotten and grow in darkness. Anyways censorship of any kind is wrong.

While i know this is "early gameplay and all" but truely we know that they have the game finished, like Infinite warfare there is no time to fix or change many problematic things about the game.

A MISSED OPPORTUNITY
Instead of cramping forced diversity in multiplayer and the campaign they could have included a diverse cast of characters in the zombies mode, this would allow the characters (forced together by the zombies) to grow as people and work together dispite differences. Imagine a Female russian sniper hardened by the eastern front, A fresh US paratrooper yet to experience the horrors of war, a British sailer stranded after his patrol boat was sunk, and a german soldier forced to work with his enemy's to survive. This offers room for all the characters to provide unique dialogue and character growth as they progress though the zombies co-op campaign, if you accentuate them with there own skills, Russian Sniper, British vehicle expert, american explosives expert, and german assault troop. It would provide interesting gameplay, diversity, and the ability to have a meaningful and forfilling campaign that was made for "Zombies lul"

While there is still potential at this point the game lacks any coherant sense and is sad to see the new multiplayer objective based gameplay and new lobby system go to waste, the supporting features appear too weak to hold the game together and ive been burnt way to many times by Activision to pre-order. Sadly unless they get their act together and provide a Full game open beta for everyone. Im going to wait until the reviews come in and either buy it post launch or as a bargin-bin Summer sale game.

I really want to get and like this game but there is so many things wrong that i cant justify the 60 dollars, Maybe in the small amount of time they have they can fix this.

After reading some of the comments in this thread, I'm starting to think Hitler was right in his decision to euthanise the disabled. I mean, it was only a matter of time before they got their hands on the internet! x)

Also good points brought up in this thread Sunman. This whole charade has certainly turned me off from this game as a whole. And it had such promise, too.

Were they always apart of the series? Or did it just not mean anything back then? Go back and replay, Their all IronCrosses. And since that is the case, how did CoD become the super-power that it is today?

Like other people have stated, multiplayer was designed for everyone, the campaign is where the dark authetic stuff wil be. Multiplayer is a whole different ball game. Explain to me how if they removed women, prototype attachments, and added swastikas into the multiplayer, it would make it 'realistic'? WWII wasn't 6 guys jumping on flags for 9 minutes, or 15 dudes being plopped into a small area for a 'FFA'? The campain will be set in WWII, which is where the authenticity will be. The multiplayer is supposed to be a fast paced, arcade style, competitive FPS. They want to make everyone enjoy themselves, including girls, and people who are genuinely offended by swastikas. It's call respect, and something I have for Sledgehammer games regarding the choices they made a multiplayer cencorship. If you wanna whine about silly thigns, go ahead and do so, but this game will still be a 9.5/10 regardless of your (clearly) awful opinion.

I don't understand why the swastikas are censored. Like why bother going back to WW2 if you're just going to censor a major faction?

Its not realism its authenticity i can suspend reality to believe this small point is important, however it's much harder to believe that a woman with a drum mag on wrong thompson with a silencer is rushing a building in berlin with the wrong insignia on flags. About the whole respect I find it more disrepectful to try to censor nazi ideas and insignia, thats along the line of denying it never happened or attempting to forget. We must remember and embrace all history good and bad as there is much to learn and remember from it.

This is how most people feel. unfortunatly its a mostly silent majority. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ minority all scream how bad it is and how it will fail then disappear when their predictions of gloom and doom are proven false

The point is the more rarely featured weapons were still more common and were historically correct, for example the thompson's drug mag used in gameplay footage was only functional with the M1928 version of the weapon. My suggestion was that it would be more believable and true to the world war 2 setting to include little known weapons for specialized roles instead of incorrectly modding and bending the roles of other weapons. The whole point is that if realism had to be sacrificed for gameplay a better way of doing it would be using different weapons not attachments.

If you're offended by a friggin symbol that's pathetic. Okay, the Gay Flag or whateber it's called offends me. Better censor it from everything so people can enjoy themselves.
♥♥♥♥ this ♥♥♥♥, I'm out. This is the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC game I've ever seen so far. Completely breaks the immersion. Get the word out! Don't buy or preorder this crap pile.
