Struggling with Lagrange Point Graveyard
Hello, I sort of am in a pickle, and I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
So, I managed to get through the last 4 Missions without too big of a difficulty, but the Lagrange point simply feels like batting my head against a wall.
The Officer tells you to burn out of Mercury's orbit while your closest to Sol, which I do
Then basically recieve a message of "You'll figure out the rest, good luck"
Incase this post hasn't made it Clear, I haven't.
Either too little time or too little fuel.
Is there something I'm not understanding or something?
I know this game is supposed to be difficult, but I feel like I need a hand.

Assuming you're orbiting Sol now, I'd suggest to:
  1. Focus the camera on the Gunship and set it as frame of reference.
  2. Burn retrograde (red handle) till the dark blue trajectory (visible by clicking the project trajectory on to reference frame button on the top left) is on top of the Gunship.
  3. Play with the tangential (red) and radial (green) handles till the projection of the apoapsis on to reference frame is on top of the Gunship. In other words, put your mouse on top of the apoapsis and a perpendicular dark blue line will appear: play with the tangential and radial handles till the intersection of those two dark blue lines is on top of the Gunship. Notice how the apoapsis and the green join symbol now overlap.
  4. Search for an orbital node in your actual trajectory (light blue line) and do an out of plane burn (blue handle) to make the apoapsis and green join symbol overlap with the Gunship.
  5. Join with the Gunship (please don't abuse the high velocity join bug: read the tooltip that appears when hovering the mouse on the green join symbol and make sure that the dV spent to join is equal to or greater than the dV stated in the tooltip).

You don't have to be very precise when playing with the handles if you don't want to, since you have a safety margin of circa 9 km/s dV.

Safety of 9km?
I thought the budget was supposed to be *really* tight.

Heh, I guess that's a cue for me to edit that mission in the Hard Campaign...
