About blackmail.
So when it comes to blackmail can you only blackmail them for a certain crime once or do you have to wait a certain amount of time before doing it again with the same item?

You can only blackmail them for a certain crime once. After that, you will not be able to select it from the 'evidence' list again.

Well makes sense, I can still report them for the crime though.

If you find them doing something / with something again you can always report them. Say you've planted an apple in somebody's home, you can always go blackmail them for it and use up the evidence and then if you want to report them anyway, you can go back and claim they have an apple again if that makes sense. :D

i have planted a apple in someones apartment, but it still dont give me the option to blackmail them, it gives me no option to drag into the box to provide evidence etc
Plant the apple in someone's appartment.
Click on the item and a description in RED letters will appear
Click on the red description and the evidence will appear in the person's information file.
Go to your office and write a blackmail letter.
Fill in the proper information then drag and drop the apple where indicated on the form.
The apple will vanish from the person's information file.

To use the apple again for blackmail or reporting the person, go back to the appartment, search where you put the apple. When you see the apple, click on it then click on the description in red letters. The apple will be back in the person's information file.

I've used the same item to blackmail a tenant several times. Eventually, they stop paying.

I tried this on the first guy, and you can send as many blackmail letters as you want. You just have to record the evidence over again every time. The tenant will ignore every letter sent after the first one anyway though, so it's pointless. But you can use the same crime to first send a blackmail letter and then the report, again remembering to record the crime once for each. Given how tough it is to gather enough money for the family issues, I sort of think you have to use blackmail as actively as possible.

You first have to click the illegal item in the tenants' apartment to record it as evidence.

Some tenants pay once while others will pay as many as three times. Some may pay more than three times but I haven't seen it. If two people live in an apartment, you can blackmail each person for the same item for each time you record it as evidence. Sometimes, that's good for $6K !

Sometimes too much blackmail can have a bad effect. I haven't seen it but I've heard that if you blackmail the wrong person too many times, they kill themselves ! I have seen tenants that you need to keep in the game move out because they ran out of money from too much blackmail.

which are the tenants that will move out if i blackmail them? I once tried blackmailing the Schimmers for some illegal book, I sent out the letter to both the wife and husband, yet as soon as the husband delivered the hush-money, an exclamation appeared above his head and he told me he has no cash to pay rent.

So.. clearly the schimmers are one of them, but the mechanics remain unclear.. Does that mean 2 bribes to the wife would also lead them to leaving, or can i blackmail her as much as i want? or is it based on the husband, or on blackmailing them both?
