Chocolates and glasses bugs, or just poor game design?

I got a quest from Carl's wife about getting sweets for Martha, so I go to the Top Hat guy and buy chocolates from him. But, even when I go to the wife and "Talk about sweets for Martha" with her, she just keeps telling me to go buy some and I never get any opportunity to give them to her!

Are there some other "sweets" I'm supposed to find besides the chocolates?

Also, Mr. Ranek wants me to find his glasses in "the house". What house? MY house? HIS house? Way to be extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vague there devs. So, I go to his house and search, and I find TWO pairs of glasses, but the only option is to steal them. Uhh, what? So I search my house instead (why would they be there in the first place???), but even though I do find some glasses, I can't give them to Mr. Ranek.

So, where am I supposed to be searching for the glasses?

Honestly, I'm not liking this game much... :(

There are chocolates (75gold) and sweets (30 gold). You need to buy the cheap sweets from the top hat man.

The chocolate part got me too. So there's chocolate and chocolate CANDY. You need chocolate candy for that quest. I agree that's it's confusing.

No idea what you actually need for the glasses. He does mention that they're prescribtion though

Thanks for the hints! I didn't see the cheap sweets last time, but I'll check again.

As for asking the children about the glasses... seriously, there's nothing in the game to give any indication I should ask them. Until now, that would have been the last thing I would have thought of and I had already wasted a lot of time looking for them before posting here. I mean, yeah I like puzzles as much as the average person, I guess, but c'mon, this game just has far too much ambiguity going for it.
