TQ can be a bit stingy at times. Loot Plus mod boosts drop rates a lot if you want to speed up farming. It drop rates a bit overtuned through so I find it a tad boring as I prefer having to work a bit in these type of games. For regular farming, you want to quit to desktop and restart every now and then as it changes the loot seed that determines what can drop.
Also, don't count out greens or monster infrequents as they can be socketed with a charm/relic and with the right fixes can be viable alternatives to higher quality. Their level requirements depend on the fixes applied so check their base stats and assigned fixes instead of level requirements when deciding what to equip.
Generally not a huge issue. Generally you'd be either str/dex or int/dex build, depending on the type of damage you want to do. I don't put points in energy, a few in health maybe. You cannot change masteries or points in mastery bar but can refund points spent in the skills.
Should not be that worried, but could always go with a good str warrior (can pretty much kill anything and everything even with random gear) as a first character while you start saving better gear for other classes and builds you want, but you can get a respec points from endgame dungeons (but can be hard)
Basically pretty much every mastery in the game has its weaknesses and due to this hard to play, after the 3 act. You should play at least twice the areas for rare loot dropping, and rare loot is pretty much useless despite it looks. So you don't really need to pick every Epic (blue) for your character, because 80% of drops wont suit to your mastery, or defense qualities.
Light green items (not just green) are pretty much greatest in the game and could be better than Epic items for normal difficulty, at least.
1) You need only a few things in this game for easier gameplay.
-Higher health amount.
-Higher armor amount.
-Higher resistences 8 main and 8 secondary.
-higher attack and dps attack.
2) You just want to replay the game (if you are playing by the game rules) to get useful relics for resistences and energy leech, the life drain is also good for weapons.
3) Last words.
*Rogue mastery will help you make higher damage with Storm or Earth as a secondary masteries.
*Nature mastery is a good starting point for the first 3 acts, however this mastery gets weaker further, but you can continue playing it as a primary mastery for damaging.
*As alternative you can try Defense mastery with Neidan as a secondary mastery, this choice will grant you some protection.
I'm just debating if it's worth investing in mods, cheats, or character editors to make the game a little more fun or whatever.
Edit: Oh and I've been grabbing and selling all the loot no matter how low grade.
I mean, I've played Diablo 1 and 2 just fine which are as old if not older than this one. And it's not about how much loot, it's about the quality.
You can use LOOT+, which is a good mod for upping dropping rates.
If you're hunting for a specific Monster Infrequent item (which only drop from specific monsters), XMAX can also be an option - it multiplies monster spawns.
2) You cannot respec attributes or skill points put into a mastery bar. You can respec regular spent skill points at a vendor with a blue orb above their head.
3) A Conqueror is widely regarded as the easiest melee starter build. It uses Warfare and Defense and has many strong defensive and offensive options and is easy to gear.
Far as stats go you only need dex and strength. On normal 300 / 300 should bring your through easily, in legendary endgame you're looking at 800+ str / 500+ dex with a healthpool of 6000+ iirc.
Vanguard can be nice as well, Warfare & Dream. It's feels stronger on the offensive side but is weaker on the defense. Has some incredibly powerful abilities though.
Offhand builds that I've used were Dream & Spirit (physical / vitality hybrid), and Warfare & Spirit (physical, spirit aura does a lot of work here).
I've been grabbing all the broken garbage and selling it but I honestly feel like I should just leave it. But it lets me buy the occasional gear from the shop which I kind of need. at this point I'd settle for a gold glitch lol.
Defense way better.
alternative is Warfare with Neidan is the best for the defenses now, if you are not using shields.
*with Nature mastery if you need extra health and healing.
*with Dream mastery for the reflection damage.
Warfare is NOT weak by itself. But Onslaught has incredible synergies with other physical abilities, especially the ones that have a % chance to procc.
Neidan is a very specialized mastery that requires heaps of mana regeneration. I agree that Warfare / Neidan is a very strong class combination but imho it's not a good beginner setup because of its requirements - several items you really want are either a low chance act 4 epic item drop or an act 5 relic for normal.
Not to mention that Neidan is paywalled behind Eternal Embers, and its act is endgame legendary difficulty ONLY.
