TQVault: A Cheat Utility?
I read about something called the TQVault and downloaded it. It comes with many features such as the ability to store many vaults worth of items. Some features even allow you to copy and edit items, change the completion bonuses of artifact, or even craft artifacts from the recipe without needing all of the components. But does anyone actually use these features? Wouldn't this be considered cheating?

Sure I guess to some degree, but no one cares. It's a mostly single-player game that you should be able to play how you want.
I think most people use the tool primarily for hoarding (the alternate is to use a ton of alts). The other features you mentioned sound like 'cheats' - TQ isn't a competitive game and most play it single player so I doubt anybody would care if you use them. Same for running mods to speed up exp or drops, etc.

If you want to use them go ahead, otherwise just ignore them and use to store your loot.

Yeah. I hoard a lot of items mostly MIs because there are a good amount of different stats on them I like to collect.

I would give it up instantly if we got an stash update.

Unlikely you'd give it up even with an updated stash. The stash would have to be almost bottomless to make up for my army of bank alts lol. Outside of maybe POE (unlimited stash space if you have the $$$), every Diablo clone shared stash quickly becomes full if you store even only the good stuff I feel.
I gave up the ones on Grim Dawn when they fixed and gave more space. If it's done correctly and give enough space and ofc QoL things that can help like making it easier to choose characters instead of going 1 by 1 when you have a lot it can really change things.

It sure gets frustrating going back and forth between merchants trying to find a certain item you want. And also when you craft an artifact and the completion bonus sucks. According to Almer's site on the utility, it just takes too much time to farm for the items you want and need.

Some functions are certainly cheating, no question about it, such as copy, change prefix or suffix, and create items in a set. However, if one only uses it as storage and organizing tool, then it is legit. It also depends on how many hours played. For someone with thousands of hours, copy an item with different charm completion bonus for testing purpose is very justifiable.

If a player really want to get an item instead of farming for it, there are other ways to do that, trade or mod etc. Therefore we should not discourage players to use TQvaultAE just for that reason. On the contrary, if all players of TQ realize how helpful the vault can be as a storage and organizing tool, it will benefit their gaming experience.

What really poison the multiplayer environment is using modified items and console command without co-player agreement. Some players add +1000000 physical damage to a ring for example, an item that was not in the game by the developers. Some players hacked the game so they could create structures, stealth, instant kill other player.

Besides TQvaultAE, there is a TQdatabase, https://tq-db.net
It will make farming more targeted. It is not cheating to use that website.

Does anybody here actually use the item editing, artifact crafting, and item copying features?

Nope, but if I have a monster charm or relic that has a specific completion bonus I need and want I might be wiling to copy and use it but other than that no.

depends on how I''m playing right now, if I'm playing self found no, I just use it for storage

If I'm playing to make builds, i'll create items with Vault, paste them, change affixes, respec my char etc

Yes, I do.

And remember it's mainly a single player game so play however you want to. Only you can decide if it's cheating or not.

I wish this was the case for all games that are single-player (or mostly) and or have no multi-player functionality but even then there are those developer(s), ect that get a bit salty over them or even the talk of them.

But good for the TQ members that are fine with it. :HentaiGirlLinda_like:

Should I turn off 'Item Copying' and 'Item Editing' and play without them? I confess that I've been using them with my current character, changing unwanted prefixes and suffixes on items to something more suitable for exactly what I want. Maybe once I finish the game with him I should delete him. What do you think?

Do you need that assistance, are you struggling without it? Is the game still fun to you doing so?

Answer those questions for yourself, nobody can answer that. If someone tells you, you shouldnt use TQVault even for storage, to make mule characters to store instead and that you should feel bad that about it. Then are you going to do what they say?

Some people play with Loot Plus mods, that drop legendaries from every chest in the game. But their reason for that, is the game is too grindy. Make your own rules.

Well, I agree the game is too grindy, similar to Diablo 2. It just takes too much time to get the items you want and need. So if people do use the feature to copy and edit items, maybe I should too. According to their website on the subject, Almer recommends it because farming for items you need to craft artifacts with good completion bonuses would be too time consuming and who has that kind of time?
