No, we have tried that.
No, we don't have any options to do LAN
Maybe you could try Hamachi, it creates a LAN that can be used like multiplayer.
We checked it out, but aren't comfortable with using it. But thank you :)
Make sure that the host has less or the same DLC. If you host with Atlantis activated only people with Atlantis will be able to join.

Hello!
As I wrote before, me and my boyfriend has the same edition and no additional DLCs. My father however does, but disabled the DLCs in order to host a game for us. It didn't work. Then I hosted, that didn't work. He tried to join a open server and that also failed. When he enabled his DLCs, everything worked fine.
I have joined that server some time ago but can't find someone with the same problem. I will try to post about this there as well. Thank you for the advice :)
Please calm down. Did you try any possible solution towards solving the prpblem?
One of the working ones is clicking OK, when you see the Network Problems detected, for example and then try to connect again, as the game...processes the request. It's an issue for singleplayer too, so this is how people solved it.
Unfortunately, it's a known problem, so if the issue persists, I advise you to try connecting through LAN network, which should be working via many available virtual adapters.
In any case, the problem should go away by itself in a few days, as it is a recurring issue.
