Unable to join server/multiplayer
Me and my boyfriend want to play this in multiplayer, but the game won't let us: "Unable to connect to server". We can play singleplayer just fine, just can't join open servers or with password. And we have the same version of the game.

We have tried the following:
- Starting the game on different internet-connections
- Uninstalling VPN
- Allowing it on the firewalls
- Start with admin (Steam and TQ)
- Verifying gamefiles
- Uninstalled the game and reinstalled it
- Launching the game with different options (the once provided)
- Update Windows and graphics cards
- We have also tried playing on the same network, me on ethernet and him on wi-fi, or him on mobile-network
- We tried LAN, works in other games but not TQ

We don't know what to do any more so any help is appreciated.

No, we don't have any options to do LAN

Maybe you could try Hamachi, it creates a LAN that can be used like multiplayer.

We checked it out, but aren't comfortable with using it. But thank you :)

There seems to be a problem with the Anniversary edition. My father owns this game with all the DLCs and can join others just fine. But when he disables the DLCs and tries to join me (or vice versa) or an open server, it fails.

Hey o/

Make sure that the host has less or the same DLC. If you host with Atlantis activated only people with Atlantis will be able to join.

Feel free to join the community on the official Discord server [discord.gg], where the community is the most active.

Hello!

As I wrote before, me and my boyfriend has the same edition and no additional DLCs. My father however does, but disabled the DLCs in order to host a game for us. It didn't work. Then I hosted, that didn't work. He tried to join a open server and that also failed. When he enabled his DLCs, everything worked fine.

I have joined that server some time ago but can't find someone with the same problem. I will try to post about this there as well. Thank you for the advice :)

I had this problem yesterday. I have all the DLC with the Anniversary edition and tried to have a friend who has the anniversary edition ONLY but he could not join my game. I then had him make a game so I can Join him but got a message that said Unable to join server. How can I disable the DLC so I can try to see if that would allow me to join his game.

To disable any dlc open steam library, right click on titie quest then click on DLC section and uncheck every dlc.
This is an outrage! There is no way to play coop with friend anymore, I constantly get "Network problems detected" when I try to join my friend and afterwards nothing happens. Insane how devs managed to fk this game up and its not even decade old. They don't care about this game anymore.

Please calm down. Did you try any possible solution towards solving the prpblem?
One of the working ones is clicking OK, when you see the Network Problems detected, for example and then try to connect again, as the game...processes the request. It's an issue for singleplayer too, so this is how people solved it.
Unfortunately, it's a known problem, so if the issue persists, I advise you to try connecting through LAN network, which should be working via many available virtual adapters.
In any case, the problem should go away by itself in a few days, as it is a recurring issue.
