Hello,

can someone tell me how am I supposed to kill this thing? I encountered one at the beginning of Act 2, but after fighting him for 15 minutes I only took like 2% of it's health. It also keeps to run away from me which is makes it even more annoying.

It all depends on your build I just killed one in act 2 as well and my poison, spear build made short work of it. Now at first I thought it was invincible because once I got its health to the last pixel it seemed to be regenerating just enough to stay alive after a good bit.

I don't know if I could have killed it without some type of contant DoT to keep its health slowly going down.

Got em with my Pilgrim, same spot you found em. Bow, poison worked well with some decent attack speed and any other debuff. Granted I was like lvl 23-24 and both specs at 20 points.

Thanks for the advice :) I’ll prepare an emergency poison-inflicting weapon in case it spawns again.

If you have a starting build, they can be annoying but can still be done depending on the build. I'd wait more when the build comes to fight them. It's all so best to trap them on a wall or in a corner and then hammer on them.

Late to the party but I just encountered my first Golden Scarab in my many years of playing this wonderful game :D

I beat it with my Conqueror, no poison. Just make sure you have a decent weapon and enough Offensive Ability to hit it and occasionally crit. You also need to make sure you have enough HP and defense to handle the "Reflect damage" phases that it seems to have.

I don't remember if it had a lot of health regeneration, but like the ranged enemies that try to run away from you, it's possible sometimes to chase them into an object, so that they either get stuck or at least spend less time running away from you. This worked on the Golden Scarab as well, there were some bushes and rocks in the area, where it got completely stuck. And then for the damage reflection that it does, from what I can remember, I think it has a fiery ring visual effect around it whenever its damage reflection is active, so you can wait until it's inactive before hitting it again, if the damage reflection is doing too much damage in return. Even then, it still took a while to kill.

The relic gives a nice bonus the offensive and Defensive abilities.
