Is it still possible to play multiplayer?
Hello everyone,

Titan Quest is one of my favorite games, at the moment, I wanted to play it again with friends who did not know in order to introduce them to the game, unfortunately, when wanting to play in multiplayer, they are constantly disconnected, while I want to clarify that we all have a stable connection and configuration, we play other games without any worries, but here we are, we are about to give up on the idea of playing the game together, which really saddens me. Is there a solution to stabilize the multiplayer a bit? Is it possible to create a Titan Quest server on a remote server? I'm looking for solutions but I haven't found anything yet, if anyone has any ideas or can help me, you're really welcome, thank you

Yes, the game is playable in multiplayer and there are many games up and going, and can make my own and have others join if I want. Troubleshooting these issues can take time.
Multiplayer is peer to peer. See if any of this helps.

Turn off Steam Cloud for Titan Quest Anniversary Edition
This concerns people playing on: Steam, GoG, Microsoft Store, Epic Games
Between each of the steps, try to run the game and check if your bug is fixed

Steps
🇦 Restart the store client and make sure you're connected to the internet. (Steam, GoG, Epic Games)
🇧 Run TQ.exe in admin mode.
🇨 Verify files with the store client you're using (e.g. Steam)
🇩 Restart computer
🇪 Update the graphics card (GPU) drivers
🇫 Update Windows
🇬 Reinstall the game and delete all folders and files related to TQ. (make backups of your save files first).
🇭 Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework (see guide on internet)
🇮 Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable (see guide on internet)
🇯 Search for your bug in the posts, try the solutions given if there are any and ask for help in the corresponding post if needed. If you did not find a similar bug to yours create a new post.

Also whoever has least of the game needs to be the host. So if one of you only has the base game then they must host.

can you elaborate? and does it totally rid crashes?
1) 4gb patch https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371 -> link taken from titanquestfans.net U can find that by ur own. Basically titan quest is 32bit and is limit to 3.5gb ram cuz of architecture so this basically extends ram to be able contain more content, monsters etc. With this i can simply play with x10 xmax for more than 2-3 hours without crash ( huge improvement from crash every 10 mins hehe).
2. -> task manager -> open resource monitor -> check TQ.exe icon -> monitor -> choose procesors. And then deactivate first one (probably with index 0) then the whole load on cpu will bedistributed for all cores.
With that fix, i'm really enjoying the game with all mods i want without any crashes.
GL ^^

can you try 1), you and all of your friends should patch your tq.exe before multiplayer , 2) is not necessary , i did not do myself.

check if the multiplayer is stable as the single player, thx for you feedback

I would like to thank @BoahEy and @Insane for sharing this tip that completely revolutionized my gaming experience.

Since I discovered Titan Quest, I've been playing exclusively in multiplayer with my brother loading an enemy multiplier mod (x10) to increase the fun and the difficulty. Needless to say, we got used to crashing regularly during memory-intensive passages (where there are too many enemies or heavy ornaments/decorations like in EE). It discouraged us more than once.

After applying the 4gb patch now we don't experience any freeze or crash to desktop, it's sensational. We can play one of our favorite games for hours without being interrupted or risking our hardcore runs (no death) because of a slowdown caused by a technical limitation of the game. Multiplayer is fully working ! Thank you so much.

Kudos.
