Solution for a working TQVault with the Anniversary Edition

Here is a little how to for those who want to make TQVault to work!

-Install Titan Quest Immortal throne not just the Anniversary edition!

-Install TQvault

-go to the directory where you installed

-open TQVAULT.EXE.CONFIG file with notepad or equivalent

-look for <setting name="AutoDetectGamePath" serializeAs="String"> <value>True</value>

-change the True to False


-now look for <setting name="TQITPath" serializeAs="String"> and change it to <setting name="TQITPath" serializeAs="String">
<value>E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Titan Quest Immortal Throne</value>
</setting>
!!! ATTENTION this is my file path it could be you have something like D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Titan Quest Immortal Throne



-Now just under there you have another saying TQPath change the whole line to <setting name="TQPath" serializeAs="String">
<value>E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Titan Quest Anniversary Edition</value>
</setting>
!!! Again change path to where your version is installed!


Start TQVault. if you did everything exactly as said it will work!

Thing to know!
As the size of the Storage area has changed you will not be able to get the items on the right so always think to put them on the left side inside the storage Area inside the game so you can transfer them to TQVault easily.

There's a better solution that does not require installing Immortal Throne. Make a copy of TQ.exe named TQIT.exe. Copy the contents of the "Text" directory in the AE install over to "Resources". Then you can point both paths at AE and it'll work fine.

BUT since AE doubled the size of the player stash and TQVault was not set up to display a stash that large, I would recommend using TQVaultXL instead: http://titanquest.4fansites.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12241

If TQVault XL isn't working, you may need to download the normal version and install it first (there's some DLL the installer registers with Windows and TQVault XL doesn't have an installer.) Also check your config file carefully for any mistakes you may have made editing it. If you don't write the XML tags correctly it'll crash.

it doesnt work :( im using windows 8, gog version and normal tq vault

If you've run TQVault previously, you'll need to go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\TQVault (there will be a separate folder in there for each version of TQVault you've run) and edit the config in there instead of the program directory.

TQVault XL does show the whole space so better try that one instead of the old vault.

theres nothing there it just says

I have a problem, TQvault is working but I can only see the transfer area but not my characters, and when I launch the game TQvault crashes. Does anyone know what I did wrong? ( I created a TQIT.exe which is a copy of TQ.exe and I changed the path in the TQvault config file)

Edit: when I try to move an artefact I get this error message http://puu.sh/raTSG/62517a101b.png

Reedit: I finally somehow manage to import my characters BUT I still have the error when my mouse goes over a formula or an artefact.

Ok by the intervention of the Saint Spirit everything works now....
I don't what fixed my problem, maybe because I use now TQvault 2314 instead of TQvault 2304, or maybe because I set to run TQvaultXL as administrator or maybe because I copied all the text files everywhere.... I don't really know but I don't get this stupid message anymore

@hyveplexel, as for finding my characters you have to change a line in the appdata>local>TQvault file
