I bought this game in 2006 on disk. I don't remember when I bought this anniversary edition on steam but I just started playing it yesterday and I'm hooked on this game again.

It still holds up today if you can overlook a hand full of things that standard ARPGs have today and the old-school vibe it has, but yeah I'll agree that it is still one of my all-time favorites and go-to games to play even today still, and with the updates and stuff it's even better.

I agree with your opinion! Although I think i would say its my favourite ARPG rather than the best. GD does a lot of things better. I simply don't like its setting at all.

Yes, I haven't found a game that's just "better" in all aspects yet. The graphics don't look dated, either, which is surprising. I also could never get into the setting of GD (don't like guns), I just love the mythology setting of TQ.

It's probably the nostalgia speaking, I'd rank Diablo 2 as the greatest ARPG of all time over Titan Quest, played it so much when it came out.

Titan Quest is a blast too through, the dual mastery system is great for making builds and I love the mythological setting,

What issue do you have with balance? Too little loot? Too easy?

Titan Quest will always be in my top 5.(Guess you can tell by how many hours I have put into it).
Although it always comes down to personal preferences and is very subjective.

Last week I actually checked through a lot of internet top 10's to 50's and they are all different.
What actually surprised me was that Arx Fatalis was only mentioned a few times.
What did not surprise me was how often Chrono Trigger came in as number 1.

It's def mine and with the additions that are being added into D2R from new rw's to corruption areas and hopefully more later it's still the gift that keeps on giving.
