Of course it can be good. A bow has greater range than throwing weapons to start with.
I have a Ranger build amongst my builds, but it is throw weapon at the moment, might go bow later build when I can build up the bows speed, its too slow at the moment.
Bow is great to use as long as you can find a bow (or gear) with some extra attack speed on.
Also max out Wood Lore and later game (Epic) try and get some CDR so you can use Call of the Hunt more often, the 31% attack speed when maxed (no +skills) is invaluable.
I have a few different builds (ofc they can be good) and making another that will be better than my others, just have been sitting on it, mostly lazy to start it.

I have one in late Epic. Use wolves to tank/DPS and goes pew-pew behind Briar Ward. It's fairly good. Bow ranger should be similar to throwing ranger, just longer range, slower attack and no shield.
if i dont play ragnarok what would be the best bow to get ?

Early game or late?
Early on see if you can be lucky enough to drop a Brigands Bow or any bow with "of the Winds". Brigand bow adds 20% speed, "of the Winds" can add 15%. Artemis Bowstring relic can add 8% + 6% speed.
late game i mean i thnk it bramble bow something like that ?? some1 have a pic of one with the stats ?
Bramblewood Bow[tq-db.net] is good, I'm using that in the build I have not started yet.

I mostly agree, it's a great start, though the better ones can be quite the pain in the ... to find. +AttSpeed and -Res is always good - but you already got Study Prey plus Flush Out there. Combining that with some high bleed, pierce, or high ele dmg bow might work out better. And it also depends on how much you turn to the Dog Side of the Force...

If you are talking Legendary, then the Bramblewood is mweh, as there are a lot of Legendary bows that may drop or any bow with a Veteran affix could be better.

Example stats below:
Bramblewood Bow
191 ~ 201 Damage
25% Pierce Ratio
Speed: Very Slow
25.0% Chance of 50 Reduced Resistances for 3.0 Seconds
+20% Attack Speed

Nidbow
239 ~ 249 Damage
25% Pierce Ratio
Speed: Very Slow
210 ~ 290 Vitality Damage
20 % Reduced Resistances for 3.0 Seconds
+25% Total Damage
80 ~ 120 Life Leech for 3.0 Seconds
80 ~ 120 Energy Leech for 3.0 Seconds
20 % Health Reduction Retaliation
30 % Slowed Attack Retaliation for 3.0 Seconds
40 ~ 60 Life Leech Retaliation
40 ~ 60 Energy Leech Retaliation for 3.0 Seconds
+1 to all skills in Spirit Mastery

Grants Skill :
Power Strike (Activated on attack)
41 Energy Cost
1.0 Meter Radius
145 Cold Damage
183 ~ 201 Vitality Damage
100 % of Attack damage converted to Health
110 Vitality Decay for 3.0 Seconds

Well Nidbow is slower but look at all that damage.
There are plenty of other better bows.

Yes the entire skill tree is worth investing in.
They did "nerf" a lot of Hunting as some people say, but if you look at how totally OP'ed it was, you can understand why.
Scatter Shot is a great skill and in reality the only "AoE" apart from Plague you have.
Marksmanship + children is way better than the base attack only, Scatter Shot nerf nonwithstanding.

Not necessary if you turn to the Dog Side, though. Still, nice to have there, esp. if you go for a debuff bow, more arrows => more debuffed baddies. So in that case, and if you're short on skill points. I'd consider picking Marksmanship and Puncture only once, but max Scatter Shot...
