Character import fails
When I first start the game up it tells me that it's importing my character from Titan Quest, which is great. But it doesn't seem to import properly because I can't select the character in the new game screen.

I can see him in the import list with his level listed as "-". When I hit the import button I see the same "importing character" message as when the game started up, but once again the character isn't imported. He doesn't appear on the screen and I can't click the Start Game button.

I started up the original Titan Quest and I was able to load the character up and play a bit without any problems. But the import into Anniversary Edition still fails even with the freshly-saved game.

Has anyone solved this?

Aye BUMP. Same issue here, I can see my character, but his level is just "-". Any fixes yet?

I had that problem when AE first came out and I was wanting to bring my original character over. Here on the forums is the method to do it by copy and pasting the savefiles, but what I had to do was create a new character 'Bob', leave him on the selection screen and then it unlocked the import feature for me.

I am answering old topic, but I was looking for answers, and didn't find the proper one.

I had a problem - game detected my character, but it had "-" in Level and Location part.

Tried some thing, but I think what actually helped me:
Here is how I solved it...
a) downloaded https://tq.soulseekkor.com/downloads.html
b) launched it, ignored the part about updating, etc.
c) I have set game location (not sure if necessary)
d) RENAMED my character
And then it started to work. I didn't have to import. It just appeared in Character Selection.

So I solved this by changing the folder name of the character to start with an upper case. For example my characters name was Zeus and the folder name was _zeus. As soon as I upper cased the Z it suddenly worked.

Yes! That works! Thank you!

To be clear: After "import character" to TQAE, we still have to go to the Documents/My Games/Titan Quest - Immortal Throne/Save Data/Main to find our imported character and capitalize the file name as per your example. My character was _Dust in the original Titan Quest folder, but _dust after importing it to the Anniversary Edition (which uses a folder still named Immortal Throne). I capitalized it. That's all. And when I reloaded the game, my character appeared in the main menu character selection screen.

Hey guys.

This is a major problem and not one that should have happened, we didn´t have any issues in the beta so please report it in our Redmine with as many details as possible and if the workaround works please do add that as well.

Redmine is located here - https://redmine.thqnordic.com/projects/titan-quest-atlantis-community

@ rtracy

You deserve to get the new DLC for free, my man. Good research, good memory, good find, good of you to inform us on the solution. Quality through and through.
