Yes, I can but the importing still fails.
same problem here.
I had a problem - game detected my character, but it had "-" in Level and Location part.
Tried some thing, but I think what actually helped me:
Here is how I solved it...
a) downloaded https://tq.soulseekkor.com/downloads.html
b) launched it, ignored the part about updating, etc.
c) I have set game location (not sure if necessary)
d) RENAMED my character
And then it started to work. I didn't have to import. It just appeared in Character Selection.
To be clear: After "import character" to TQAE, we still have to go to the Documents/My Games/Titan Quest - Immortal Throne/Save Data/Main to find our imported character and capitalize the file name as per your example. My character was _Dust in the original Titan Quest folder, but _dust after importing it to the Anniversary Edition (which uses a folder still named Immortal Throne). I capitalized it. That's all. And when I reloaded the game, my character appeared in the main menu character selection screen.
This is a major problem and not one that should have happened, we didn´t have any issues in the beta so please report it in our Redmine with as many details as possible and if the workaround works please do add that as well.
