Likely never, your CPU is very old, doesn't meet the minimum specification and the fact of the matter is old technology like that processor will simply not work or have the proper feature sets to function with newer game technology.

That's a nearly 9 year old processor which is running on extremely archaic architecture now, it's time to upgrade.

Never. You should really consider buying a new CPU. It's 8 years old, ffs.

I don't want upgrade my CPU. Why? Yes, he is very old. But i can playing with it in other new games. Example, Rise of the Tomb Raider or Fallout 4. In addition - recent patch remove mandatory requirement to SSE4.2 instruction. But this fix work only in AMD Phenom processors. This stupid..

This is technology, this is just the way things are, more and more content is going to come out that you cannot play.

You have this absurd sense of entitlement, I can already tell, like everything needs to function on your nearly decade old CPU, it's absurd.

Oh.. Okay =( Thanks for answer.

Oh, another one... You don't want to upgrade your CPU? Then you won't play Quantum Break. It's simple as that. Why devs should do a patch to support very old CPU that doesn't even meet minimum requirements? Get real.

Ahah. To get a large audience. Logical? Okay.

Maybe they should patch in support for the Commodore 64 while they're at it...

Yeah. They also should support DX9, lower RAM requirements to 1GB and patch in support for Windows XP. Again — get real.

Your CPU is very old, so no. Either upgrade or get used to it.

Steam Refund exists, now go use it.
Bunch of useless answers is all I see. Any of you ever thought, that switching to a newer CPU isn't always that easy? With new processor, you'd most likely have to change the entire platform as well (motherboard, memory, etc.) and it's a pretty hefty price to pay just to play one game.

And yeah, I said one game because literally every other game that comes out nowadays can be played on that cpu and none of them absolutely require some arbitrary cpu instructions to run. At the very least they run like ♥♥♥♥ on higher settings but you can always compensate with better GPU & lower settings. Maybe the guys over at remedy are bad at programming, idk.

I've had that processor myself for years now and never experienced any issues running modern games, up until now. Very disappointed since i got it in retail and unable to get a refund. Oh well, guess it's just gonna sit there in my library like a lemon until I'll be able to upgrade in who-the-♥♥♥♥-knows-when.

I have CPU of 2009 year and have no problem like that since it support this instruction. But really game does not use much of it, it just a matter of few checkboxes in compiller and can be fixed easily. it reminds me how Bethesda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up compiller settings for TES games and released games without CPU optimization in compiller settings until people notticed and pushed Bethesda to recompile game with such settings.

How many games do you need to NOT work on your ancient CPU to actually accept that your CPU is old and needs to be upgraded? Or at least that sometimes minimum requirements are there for a reason?

The same thing. I do not play much, but QB was probably the only one game, i was waiting for. And now such a surprise. I don`t actually care about most of answers, because there is no use to change PC, which works with most modern games, just for a single game. That is just not fair.
If this won`t be fixed, probably refund is the only way...
sad...and disappointed.
