Soldat 2

Soldat 2

There are too many experienced players from Soldat 1
I am playing this game for ~10 years, were playing it on company lan parties etc. I was winning there but immediately, when you get to a public server, people are so much better that it doesnt make much sense to play it, the gap is too huge. To the author: invent some way to put similar players into same league to avoid pushing newplayers into the pro league as it makes no fun if someone kills you with a thrown knife all over the screen.

I will admit, have tried to play it, and I am doing it each month (or few months), but there is no fun in it, as long as pairing will always get you into situation where there are a few players much-much-much better than you.

I want to play with people with similar skills, not with some guys that devoted their lives to being good at Soldat. I dont have that much time and if I give it to the game, then I would expect that I am paired with equal, not with much better players.

The Soldat 1 was great game, the Soldat 2 is imho better, but if you are just a cannon fodder, it becomes boring and you stop to play it. It is not about "getting better", it is about having time to get better, and some people have time for that but most dont.

This is far bigger problem than the price/bugs/whatever. It is just not fun to play against people that are n levels above you, I am perfectly fine if I got response from server that there are no players on same level of reflexes. Will try at some other time. On the other side, if I get demolished each and every time, I will stop even trying and you will lose your player base - and I am getting there. And i believe this is happening now, servers are empty of starting players, just a bunch of pros from soldat 1 (which dont consider themselfs as pros).

Either do some proper ranking or give players that are worse some head start, for instance, faster reloading.

There is a system like this in ranked

This is not dota2 or csgo, no one here is playing soldat professionally

Get better. Every game with competitive gameplay is like this

or give players that are worse some head start, for instance, faster reloading.
In DM u get bonus HP if u keep dying without killing anyone, what would you like to get? Last Stand or Dead Man's Hand from Modern Warfare 3?

if I get demolished each and every time, I will stop even trying and you will lose your player base - and I am getting there. And i believe this is happening now,
First- your believes are wrong, second- what are you trying to do? Emotional blackmail? Soldat 2 have extremely small playerbase but its definitely not decreasing

Your post, with all due respect, is just complain that better players exists (duuuh), internet is not a lan party my dude.

I would love to help you, but I do not know how, the only thing coming to my mind is (unironically) 'get gud'.

To summarize, the problem is that some have time, to "get gud", some don't. And I want to play with others who also don't have time to "get gud" - point being, I want to play this game, but there is no one to play with.

I am sorry to hear that, obviously with time you will get better

I get you there, this is 100% true, playerbase is tiny, mostly focused on playing ranked games with lack of pub servers- development of soldat is painfully slow- but upon release game is going to be f2p afaik. Hopefully that will bring some players, and then you will find it more accessible.

But complaining about, with all due respect, about being bad and getting stomped by others- well, this is how online gaming looks like in every PvP game. Of course it might be much worse for you in soldat, due to size of playerbase

Dont hesitate to join the official soldat 2 discord to join some public games with active players. By doing that, you will improve yourself instead of only playing with bots or offline.

Like any other multiplayer game, there is always a gap between players. There is now a ranking system where you can defy other players.

Cya in games!

I don't think you understand, most of adult people don't have time hanging out for whole day in any game. I don't want to improve, I don't care about that, I just want to play a cozy game for round or two when kid is going to sleep and that is it. Now if you come and get into a game, it is not fun, you leave. You join again, see there is no more players or you get "stomped" by the only players that are here - guys that devoted their life to playing Soldat. And after a few times you just don't came back as it is not worth wasting valuable time. Soldat 2 has a huge issues and those are experienced players and, now I hear, discord based match making, I mean wtf is developer thinking, thinning down the game player base even more by allowing a discord channel as a parallel matchmaking, where is the point in this? Will come by in a year or something if anything has changed to the point, where I will be able to play a game or two without wasting years in practicing.

When I was kid my grandpa stomped me in chess, and he was not even good at it! but he played it for longer then i did (duuh). My friend, you are delusional, soldat is 21 years old 'franchise' (:B1:). if someone spend 10 minutes per day playing it, thats 1.3k hrs, what are u expecting? no one is 'devoting their lifes' to play this game, it's just old. And I believe most players are, indeed, adults

This is how it is- in multiplayer game there always will be someone better, and if you coming with mindset that "oh I do not wanna improve" and "I hate it cuz i get stomped", well too bad, maybe try something singleplayer instead? I certainly can't help you, and I personally do not see any way how you could improve your experience in soldat2, with this mindset of yours.
Like i said before- game have small playerbase, so "oh i'm bad i get rekt, everyone is pro" feeling is amplified by this.

discord based match making, I mean wtf is developer thinking, thinning down the game player base even more by allowing a discord channel as a parallel matchmaking, where is the point in this?
On the other hand, I could not agree more with this- this is absolute BS, MM is not here on steam (like 99% of soldat2 community), it seems to me, he do not care/do not want to game to pickup, huh! "I made this for soldat1 bois, and they are here already (discord) hehe". Only posts in this thread is me, you, and guy who invites ppl to discord, kek. I wonder if new players will pickup this game via steam or via discord :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

thankfully game actually have built-in ranked system instead of this IRC and later discord gather thing from original soldat

Where there are zero players. And I cant even make a lanparty as you need to pay for the game. It will become extinct. Great game, wrong politics.

Probably you are suffering from stockholm syndrome. We have started with soldat 1 on lanparties at office, where everyone started with same skill. It was great. One of most entertaining games I have ever played.

This one is payable, no way in hell to pay for 15-20 players in advance (would probably pay it in "shareware" mode to even have a chance to get hooked) and no similar experience online as all players have years of training on soldat 1. I have give up. And so will all newcomers. Which is now more than obvious, regardless of game potential.
