General Mac / Linux Thread (Old Unofficial Builds Thread)
Mac and Linux builds are now officially released through steam so links to the latest builds will no longer be here! This thread will stay up as it contains quite a bit or useful information for any issues mac and linux users may be having. Feel free to continue to ask any mac or linux specific questions here as well.

Thanks for handling non-windows builds :) I've pinned the topic, will setup a linux version of the game directly on Steam once the known issues are fixed.
A linux user here! Thank you so much guys!

Links have now been updated to 0.4.2 along with Mac builds! If anyone is able to do more comprehensive Mac testing that would be great. I've only confirmed that the game loads and races can be played since I'm still working on getting my dual boot working properly.

Hi!
Any chance of Linux builds for the unstable branch?
Would be amazing to help test those changes.

Sorry for the late reply Mutex. I've been busy these last few days so I didn't have the time to build and test them. I've just uploaded the 2016-06-12 unstable build and will be uploading future unstable builds as they're released.

Just FYI, hadn't come upon this thread, so on Mac, I downloaded the latest stable windows release straight from the dev's website, then created a custom port with PortingKit. Works perfecly well ! (Had a bit of stuttering so I disabled FXAA).

Running fine, fullscreen, native res (macbook pro retina 15", this is HIGH), all graphics maxed out (except FXAA).

Looking forward to a native clean release (please try porting it to metal API, pretty please ! :) :)

I'm planning to build a hackintosh in the future so I can start properly testing the OSX version among other things. I'll definitely try getting metal to work (Unity has experimental support) but I don't know if the computer I'll be putting together supports it.

Apple have only stated what machines support it in terms of release year not actual hardware, so no guarentees. (I'll probably be putting my GTX 560ti in it once I get a new card)

Unity also announced experimental Vulkan support so once I get my new card (560ti doesn't support Vulkan on linux) I'll hopefully be building some Vulkan versions for Linux (maybe even windows)!

Major kudos for this. But is in-game music broken for anyone else in the 0.5 update? Menu music is fine, as are all other sounds, but once in-game everything music-related down to the skip button stops working.

(Sorry for the late reply) You're right, I just check and the in game music isn't play for some reason (Usually have it muted so I didn't notice). I'll have a look and see whats going on, hopefully they'll be a version to fix this in a few days.

The 0.6.0 Mac and Linux builds are now out! Over the next few days I hope to start testing Vulkan versions to be released along side OpenGL, it will be interesting to see how well Unity's vulkan renderer fairs against OpenGL.
