Additionally there's a hardcore mode, I think it's E by default, press that button when selecting a campaign event and it will crank the AI difficulty level to the max, regardless of the normal setting.
You need to use that setting to obtain Platinum medals on all levels (that aren't Time Trial and Survival as those are directly integrated).

Nooo ;) I've done 10% at maximum, and already stuck for something very hard ;) (for me)
It's just I'm a lot more bad using the old wipeouts…
Maybe you're judging difficulty by something other than simply what the AI is capable of.
