"I think, the problem is not in hardware. I unpacked the archive CondemnedA.Arch00 and compared there with files from other retail version of this game. All audio files are present, but the contents of the folder containing this audio files for the mission three (Metro Tunnels) are reversed."
I've got the retail version and apparently the Steam version will be free in the next day or so as part of the "Make War Not Love" Prize Bundle 2.
Hopefully I can determine what's missing from the Steam version and upload the missing files via. Dropbox.
Its free right now. Would be nice if you could release a hotfix for this issue. Maybe just the retail CondemnedA.arch00 file because as I understood it some filenames are reversed in the Steam version from the Metro Tunnels. Probably the game doesnt find those files wrong named or plays them wrong.
Already snagged it :) Here's what I've discovered so far:
Inside the main game folder you've got 19 files. 16 of them are exactly the same as my retail's:
Inside the Game folder: ClientFX.fxd, GameServer.dll and Interface.asset00 are all the same. GameClient.dll is different and both Arch00 files are too. Here are the Arch file sizes:
Retail CondemnedA.Arch00: 6.21 GB (6,679,167,735)
Steam CondemnedA.Arch00: 6.14 GB (6,601,846,380)
Retail CondemnedL.Arch00: 658kb (674,576)
Steam CondemnedL.Arch00: 649kb (664,748)
P.S. I will likely just .zip up the different filenames and folders to save on size and where it goes and what it replaces (esp. in the case of reversed files).
[EDIT]:
I think it'd just be easier to upload the entire A.Arch00 file (compressed to 3.13 GB in size) on Google Drive in the end. So that's what I'm doing. I can't upload today because my net is slow but I'll have this available tomorrow ASAP and post a link to it here.
I replaced it with the one from the Steam version and played the first 2 levels.
So far I didnt notice any sounds missing. Train also had sound. Also there are no other problems or crashes. The CondemnedL.Arch00 I just leaved as it is though. Dont think it misses anything in the Steam version. In fact its even bigger...
Sorry I took so long (net was really slow yesterday). The link to both arch files should be available in 5 hours or so -- I'll just point out CondemnedL is an optional download.
A few people have confirmed what you have said and there shouldn't be any problems with replacing the entire arch file (since it essentially contains all of the game's files).

All the best guys!
You're very welcome. I hope it helps you and anyone else that gets this issue (like I said in another thread).
If you have any issues, let me know!
Some said reducing the polling rate on your mouse also helps. Might want to try that as well.
Its with how many Hertz your mouse works. In my experience that doesnt really fix it though.
Especially because my mouse feels weird then. Disabling certain HID devices should fix it. I had already 4 different PCs with this problem and on all it was fixed.
Here is a screenshot which might help you, im not sure if its always the same place.
Which mouse model vendor do you have? Logitech, Sharkoon, etc? I could help you point the problem down via hardware vendor device ids. Im also not sure if mouse is enough. Maybe your keyboard causes problems too.

Basically, your polling rate dictates how frequent or often your mouse sends information to your computer. A higher polling rate means a more smoother, reactive and/or sensitive mouse.
I personally haven't messed around with my mouse's polling rate but I know with some mouses you can do it really easily (via. a program that compliments or comes with the mouse) or with certain software that you can download.
