Here is how to do that:
1. Uninstall Rec Room via Steam.
2. Completely delete the "RecRoom" folder from the "common" folder, in the Steam installation directory. This will usually be found in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RecRoom"
3. Completely delete the "Against Gravity" folder from the "locallow" folder, located in your appdata folders. This will be found in "C:\Users\(Your Windows Username)\AppData\LocalLow\Against Gravity"
Finally, reinstall Rec Room and try to log in.
Yes I did.
This didn't change anything, the problem persists.
See here on how to do that: https://recroom.happyfox.com/kb/article/7-player-log-log-files/
I reinstalled the game from the very beginning (deleted every RR files) then installed again, the game would still do some freezes and crash everytime, but after checking the files integrity, it seems steam downloaded one file again, and now I was able to play.
So, my best guess there is, maybe the Rec Room installer doesn't have all the files needed to work properly, but doing an integrity check would bring back said file.
I don't have any clue of which one is it, but I think that's a good starting point for devs to find a solution.
good luck out there
Thanks for the troubleshooting. Not sure if this is something we're doing wrong on our end, or Steam is messing something up when downloading the game. Either way, your input does give us a good starting point to figure out what the issue is.
