We have some news on the insta-crash some users have been experiencing. We have identified the issue down to users using older CPUs. The fix for this issue will be in the next update. However, we have also prepared a beta branch if you'd like to test this update and see if it works for you today. This branch is the live version of the game with the fix applied.

To access this version of Rec Room:
- Right-click on Rec Room in your Steam library
- Choose "Properties"
- Go to "Betas"
- Enter "PleaseStopCrashing" in the code box
- Click the blue opt-in button to opt into this version (temp-crash-fix-0723)

The next update will otherwise have the fix, by then we will delete this branch. That's when we will call this issue resolved. Thanks!

I think it's rec rooms latest update that's causing this issue.

Maybe try to uninstall then reinstall possibly? I've never really seen crashes like this happen to me.

It seems that users on older Intel CPUs have been experiencing instant crashes when loading the game.

We have people looking into this issue.

Just making sure, which CPU do you have? The exact model name would be good info to have.

Ok, My bad as I had Comodo firewall running and it blocked the cloud server. Unblocked it and it ran fine. locked up my pc on exit though. Could not go back to windows. The headset was working as normal though. just a full size rec room animated screen.

Worry not, we have an experimental fix that we're testing. We'll try to roll it into an update ASAP if it successfully fixes the issue.
