People playing without VR

People have found out how to get into Rec Room without VR. They are unbound by playspace and freely fly through walls and ceilings, griefing others. Their hands are stuck in front of their faces because they have no controllers. Putting a bucket on their head gets rid of them for a little while, until they figure out how to get it off.

But, what if someone has a virtuix omni ( http://www.virtuix.com/ ) that basically emulates a keyboard, and a vive ? As a current owner of the vive and a future owner of an omni, it would be fun to use both in this wonderful game (wonderful work by the way, it's a pure dose of hapiness brought to the vr world !).

We are looking into allowing non-VR players to enjoy the game in some fashion, without making it unpleasent for the rest of the folks that are using VR devices.

That being said, for the upcoming update we will force the game to be VR exclusive as it is currently designed.

Sorry about this! I really like the idea of the game but can't afford a VR headset. I can't figure out a way to move my arms from my neck but still want to play the game. It's a shame to hear it will be VR exclusive - the idea is really cool, so it sucks that non-VR players can't play.

I feel for the non-VR users :( perhaps in the future, there can be a separate server where both VR and non-VR users can play together

It'll be great if a way to allow non-VR players into the game comes in the future but in it's current state, playing dodgeball with flying players who just fly into you with a ball is not so pleasant.

Yeah, this is the problem really. People are people and people doing something unintended especially online are almost universally jerks. No one likes jerks. At least with a VR player you can punch them in their stupid virtual faces.

Can you just let people with no VR just go in and voice chat and spectate people with vr becauyse playing this even without vr was tons of fun and im going to miss it

This is a VR game. If you don't have VR, don't play the game. It's simple concept, but you're so entitled you think you should be allowed to play when you're not even the target audience AND be allowed to behave like an idiot to everyone else and ruin their fun? The majority of the keyboard users didn't behave this way only like 2 of them did. Which is VERY VERY RARE to encounter. You can probably find even worse ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with a VR.

Jon is right, I have played and only encountered 1 idiotic keyboard user. When i played, I was never a jerk. I never held anything up infront of people or blocked them or anything. Now, You VR users are idiots. Half of you put a bucket on ANYONES head and think its funny because you can. Do you see keyboard players doing stuff like that? NO because we cant. We just want to roam and have fun just like you.
