Rec Room wont start in VR Mode (Oculus quest 2)

Im using a perfectly fine and new Oculus quest 2, other steamVR games work fine yet Rec Room will only launch in flat screen mode, why?

If you aren't already, try launching the game from inside the Steam VR instead of launching it through steam desktop application (if that's what you're doing)?

I always open my games in the steam application, and when I click play, It asks if Id rather play in vr or non vr mode.

If you start Rec Room while inside of SteamVR, it should boot up using SteamVR.

If you're running Oculus Link or Air LInk, I recommend that you use the Oculus version on the Oculus store for best performance.

If you're running Virtual Desktop, the SteamVR version works fine as you don't need to run through the Oculus runtime, so performance will not be affected like if you were using Oculus Link / Air Link.

Hey thanks everyone for your kind an detailed replies, my dumb a** didnt install SteamVR at the time, everything id functional now :)

for me i start it via steamvr and it just stops after "synchronising to steamcloud), like, "stop"
becomes "play" again (by the way, it works in flat screen mode and i'm playing on a quest 1 via quest link with steamvr as openxr runtime
