omg so glad to see someone else say this, cheating was and still is pretty rampant among VR players in the quests.
And one more thing, he posted his petition multiple times on here and really tried to fire it up, and as of right now, got a total of 19 people to sign it. Rudeness doesn't pay off...
But its about the trolls for one. The VR crowd was a different crowd. Few to none spent hundreds of dollars on a VR headset to just troll people. But on PC every tom rick and harry on steam can jump in here and troll out of boredom.
The mini games are also ruined now because even if you aren't playing compettively its still no fun playing in VR against people on PC. They have it easier and will ALWAYS do better, its obvious and is frustrating. Loosing isn't fun, specially if its due to a control scheme or platform advantage.
Look cross platform is fine if the experience is the same. Fortnite pulls it off well pitting console and mobile and pc all in the same room seamlessly. But all those are the same 2d experience. All played with your hands only on a static screen. VR is a whole different beast and can't and shouldn't be pitted against traditional game design, its not tradional!
This move is a massive mistake! That brings nothing good to the gameplay wise, I get you want the social aspect but if all we wanted was a chat room where anyone could join and we could kill time then we'd play VRChat! You're not a chat room, your a rec room and you set yourself apart from VRchat by selling yourself on your gameplay, on the idea of a rec center filled with fun multiplayer stuff to do beyond chatting. Well thats not fun anymore because why even bother with my vive when I can log in on my pc and easy mode win most of those mini games that used to be a fun challenge for me!
This social focused excuse to justify a desprate grab for more players is laughable. Want to keep your reputation, your current playerbase and attract PC players? Make crossplay OPTIONAL! So those of us on VR who want to opt out, can.
Sorry for the rant but I'm No mans sky level of dissapointed in this move. Stop trying to be fortnite! You aren't going to "take over" every platform. you're just going to loose the one you have and ruin the best VR experience out there in the process! This desprate move will get you nothing good! If you need a real world example of how wrong this will go for you, google a little game called radicle hights. Let me know how that works out for ya
TLDR - Cross platform this way was a BAD idea. Want to keep it in, make it OPTIONAL for VR users or kiss that userbase goodbye.
I agree with this completely and am glad to see someone else say it. I am sick of rec room players like Cave Johnson refusing to play with anyone under rank 30 or refusing to group in quest with anyone who doesnt have s rank gear. OR when the join the lobby and immeditly start asking if people have beat the quest yet and talking about how many times they have beaten it, no one really cares just play the damn game.

I have spend more time then most learning the quests to new VR players. And i see that it is a night and day difference between then and now. Screaming kids, almost fresh out of diapers, that do not even know the most basic things. And recdoomers, obviously pancake gamers, that never seem to learn.
Nothing elite about being fed up with being a nanny for screaming kiddies or always need to carry a team of non learning, mute, pancake doomers.
Under lvl 30?, no problem, if those are serious players. But face the facts, most of them aren't!!!

'Oh, sowwy, I shot you for the 200 time in a row'
its just a game a good game i agree with mean agressive people with the ability to hack the game is very offputting, gamechanging, dangerous, and unfair
but just people people dont have enough money to get a good enough computer to run VR and a Headset doesnt mean we should critisise them for "been poor" they just want to play a game with their mates
p.s i do use a VR headset for this game
For kids and toxic player, the reporting system does work. It doesn't always work right away but don't let that stop you from reporting people that are breaking the CoC.
