At this point maybe "Seasons" in Rec Royale should be renamed "Years"

I took a fairly long break from RR due to the lack of updates. I mean, reaching lvl 50 in Royale then being stuck there for months is no fun. So, I thought I'd come back and we'd at least have a new season and map by now, right?

No.

Instead, time has been wasted on things like Bowling and hair dye updates.
Royale was huge when it was released. Why abandon it?

Also, takes SO much longer to load in VR now, and the gameplay randomly freezing for a second or two while playing.

The was by far my fav VR game, now it's hardly worth playing at all. Judging by the comments, I'm for from the only player that feels this way too.

The last 4 months or so felt like they were taken over by Quest development. They kept stressing on their announcement channels that they were working to port Rec Room to "other platforms" and in the end they meant the Quest, to the surprise of nobody, but it was still reassuring to hear if that makes sense.

I don't blame you though if you're primarily a player who plays Rec Room original rooms. Nothing of that sort has really been added. I think just Bowling/Cresendo were the latest?

They did mention maybe a month or two ago that Rec Royale Season 2 is still a long time out in the horizon, which was kind of disappointing to hear. I really enjoy Rec Royale, and I think a map refresh or new items to grind for would be great.


However, If it makes you happy, they recently said in a Q&A that they're working on some new Rec Room original rooms, so that's exciting. I'm optimistic at whatever it could be. I always prefer playing their dev-made rooms instead of the custom rooms. Not to say custom rooms are bad, no. Some of them are great. However, I have over 200~ hours in Laser Tag alone, another 150~ hours in Paintball, and maybe another 100~ hours in the Quests. I just think that the devs can make more replay-able, fun rooms.

It's sad to hear Royale 2 has been put on the back burner for so long. To me, it's by far the best game in RR. They should at least extend the max level to 100 and add new level prizes. that would satisfy me, and I'm sure some of the other Royale players. at least a little while.

Good to hear some new Dev rooms are coming though. hopefully no more stinkers like bowling.
