Unfortunately this appears to be some incompatibility bug between the drivers of AMD RX graphics cards, SteamVR, and Unity (the engine we use for our game). This is especially frequent in players using the Windows MR headsets or that have installed Windows Insider Preview builds on their computers, but we've still seen it from players with Vives and Oculus. We're still looking into a solution we could implement on our end, but it is likely we'll have to wait for a new version of AMD drivers, SteamVR, or until we upgrade to the newest version of our engine.
Can you send us your log file[www.againstgrav.com] the next time this happens? Hopefully it'll make it more clear what's going on.
Problem is, when playing through Steam, what is displayed on the monitor is only the lower half of what she is actually looking at. Which is also just annoying when I want to see what she is working on.
This isn't a problem when launching Rec Room through the Oculus store, which we'll do for now, but she would prefer to launch through Steam because she has Steam friends.
Any idea what is causing this? I couldn't find any settings that would help, Steam VR settings seem exclusively geared towards the Vive.
Thanks, and you guys are doing an awesome job with this VR World you've built, my wife is obsessed.
Have you tried setting the reflector to fullscreen (pressing Alt + Enter while the app has focus)? You can also activate the streamer camera (which pulls the camera back from the avatar) in watch menu settings in-game. Let us know if you need more help with this.
