How do the Devs Profit?
This game is amazing and clearly has a ton of work put into it, especially considering the constant updates. So how is it monotized, how are the devs turning a profit from this game? I want to throw money at this game.

Hah, you shall never know our evil plans! Hehe, sorry, we don't have any monetization in the game yet, but you can really help us out with a good review on Steam/Oculus :)

I mean you could be sponsored by businesses in return for their logo on something I guess. Or a donate option.

If you're not paying for the product- you are the product.

Well you are making money somehow, and I hope it isn't through selling the users to third parties

alot of new projects start off as non profit then as it grows items get added maybe paid clothes and customizations things like that..so no, they don't have to be making any money..just how half of the internet operates as volunteer..
just how this forum has random members trying to give support..

No. All jokes aside, we hate this practice and we're not selling your info to third parties.

Thanks for the clarity. I'm insistant because nobody works for free especially when it comes to making amazing polished games. I love this game and want to see it monotized in a good way.

People work for free all the time.

Although I generally don't like microtransactions, if they want to have premium props, badges, rooms or activities, it's totally fine.

I hate to necro a dead thread, but this was published today and it's good to see you guys are so successful with this game. Heres to a bright future!

With the lootboxes you get each day and after games. Rec Room may be going the route of overwatch, selling lootboxes.
