Team-speak for paintball
I've noticed that sometimes people try to utilize teamwork a little more by telling their temmates the enemy position as such. This can be pretty fun and useful, however the problem is that the enemy can hear you as well.

Any plans to implement an option to set your mic to team-only? I think this could be pretty useful.

This would also kill the aspect of being able to hear the enemy position. There's nothing quite as satisfying as constantly picking off that annoying doofus who's constantly cussing at you because you always know where they are, specifically because they keep cussing at you.

I'm not really suggesting that this should be on by default. In fact, I wouldn't want it to be. I just think it would be a nice additon to be able to togge teamspeak somehow mid game if you only want your team-mates to hear you when you give them strategical information.

Yeah, but my point is that if you have the option to make yourself clearly audible to only your own team, why would you ever turn it off? I mean, I guess some would opt to disable it for the occasional taunt, but even a troll would just do his cussing at his own team mates who can't shoot him multiple times in response.
I personally prefer that if you want to keep from being heard by specific people, you have to actively be quiet and only talk to your team when you're far from the enemy or when you've already been shot and wont lose anything by calling it out.

That might make sense if this were a serious game and people were only playing to win. Personally I think most people would have an open mic most of the time, because they just want to have fun and talk to people. So you'd probably want as many people to hear you as possible when you make a joke or whatever.

But if you are playing to win it would be nice to also have a option for team speak so you could collaborate better with your team. This could be especially useful during tournaments.

Cosidering how far your voice carries compared to the size of the map and the fact that the spawn postions for the same team are pretty far apart compared to the whole map there really is no way to say something without a player from the opposite team hearing you. Especially if they are in your spawn, wich also happens to be a situation where you'd want to warn your team mates.

I'd suggest a walky talky kind of solution, like in Onward, where if you'd put your hand to the side of your neck and pull the trigger then you'd use your radio. So you have it so only your team mates hear that radio chat.

I enjoy it. I think one of the things that ruins social games are 'party' chat type features. I think it killed a lot of what the Xbox had going for itself. I understand where you're coming from, but I hope they don't either.

I think I'd be fine with Raul's idea, where you not only have to choose to use team speak, but doing so also hampers your ability to use both hands for shooting/defending. It would balance the advantage that teamspeak-only would give, and also makes it something that you have to consciously use.
Alternatively, it might be interesting if you could choose to forgoe a weapon/shield in one hand in order to have the ability to "stealth" yourself. Not that it would keep you from being seen by an enemy, but it would let you hide your teleport trail from them and keep them from hearing the sounds from your mic or teleportation.

I think they need radios (walkie talkies) so they can help their teammates

I down vote. A part from professional paint ballers, I guess, it's a bunch of people shouting on a field. "1 on front bunker" and that kind of stuff. I think the teleport trails kinda makes up for not hearing someone shuffle about. The odd thing that I found is that some people are either better at teleporting faster ( hitting it right at cooldown ) or have a better connection. D;
