Cinder Man - Orad? Literally who?
As I'm doing the Cinder Man quest, I've run into two oddities:

First, I'm sent to two locations, of which one is entirely missable; the latest crime scene and the oldest crime scene. According to the journal/quest, the oldest crime scene was mentioned by the dude I liquered up in the bar, but he never actually mentioned this to me at all.

Second, as per the topic. As I'm talking to the Cinder Man, the following exchange takes place: https://i.imgur.com/X0YTbRL.png

I have absolutely no clue who Orad even is.

Also, as I let Cinder Man go, when I walk outside, Artanak wonders why.

I say some things about Cinder Man being manipulated, but then I also say "Plus, I get Nectar".

At no point was it implied by anything or mentioned by the Cinder Man that I'd get Nectar, but 'lo and behold, I've suddenly got two extra bottles of Nectar in my inventory, conjured from seemingly nowhere.

It wasn't given by Cinder Man.

I didn't pick it up from his experiments.

Cinder Man never said he'd give me Nectar, either.

They're just suddenly there, without any explanation, and my character treats this as normal somehow, for some reason.

Also, for some reason, I now have two Cinder Man entries:

The game should not have been released in this state.

I'm on that quest and can't find the "Fresh Tech Rot"... any help?

Also, if you get the guy drunk enough he will tell you about both.

I got him drunk enough to end the conversation because he said everything was spinning.

You need to follow the tech rot trails, they should be like purple glitter in the air, and then you need to stand by the furthest one and scan, and it should update and reveal the next "step". The first "step" leads out into the garden.

Note that as opposed to ALL other quests I've done with tracking, it won't leave you with any "?" to inspect, you just have to see where the trail is going and stand basically on top of the haze and scan. It's weird.

Orad is the leader of Peh's Technomagi, and becomes a very important character later in the game. Seems like this dialogue tree erroneously assumed you'd be further along in the main quests when you did this side quest.

Sadly, I couldn't find the option in the dialogue tree to let the Cinder Man live, and made the mistake of assuming the game was railroading me into killing him rather than looking harder. It's a real shame given that killing the Cinder Man can potentially keep you from getting the best ending.
