Artee Village access.

I've been free roaming in the northeren part of the everglade swamps, but the darkenss is annoying so i was looking to get the quest that lifts it early, however so far my attempts at bypassing the cliff have proved futile... and more often deadly.


Is it possible to reach/access Artee village before getting the "Keep it secret keep it safe" main quest?
