As I remember you need to find herbs.
I gathered all herbs around the villiage and tryed all of them.
Thats all ) Quest was completed.

Late to the party here but after much frustration on this I'll just leave my tips for the sake of posterity:

• You need a specific type of herb, I wasn't able to figure out which one though
  
  
• If the fire just goes black and/or the guy falls asleep it was the wrong one
  
  
• The correct herb emits a tripy-looking purple smoke, you will know it when you see it

The easiest way to complete this is to gather a bunch of herbs, either from the camp or from somewhere else, and then burn them all at once. If the correct herb is included then you will see the purple smoke and continue the quest.

Don't fix the wire until after you already have the right smoke and all the guest gathered around, otherwise he will break it again and you need to find the parts, again.
