Disguising Yourself
How does this work exactly? ive tried wearing a full set of the technomagi's or biomancer's armor, the icon showing i was fully disguised appeared too, and it doesnt seem to really do much. I still get noticed and attacked in restricted areas and gaurds notice me through the outfit and attack elsewhere too. They seem to be kinda pointless.

the circles under npcs are suspicion meters
if youre wearing something thats going to get you in trouble everyone will have a faint circle under them at all times
if you get seen it fills up until theyre alerted but until its full you can run and hide and should be ok

if youre wearing a guards/techno/bio etc outfit there will be an icon on the top right of the screen to show youre disguised

this sometimes lets you walk around areas without being instantly chased but if you get too close to another guard for too long they will notice you and the alert meter will fill and unless you gap it your cover will be blown

all depends on where and what disguise, something that works for one faction is only going to annoy another

or smth

Disguises are iffy. Like they won't instantly recognize you're not supposed to be there, but they will still follow footsteps... which is annoying, to say the least.

Disguises will make enemies take longer to alert.

Also wearing the full Technomagi Pioneer set, other technomagi seem to instantly know i'm not one and attack wearas the regular technomagi set at least lets me run away.. just had a guy run up from 2 floors below me AND open the door i was hiding behind just to attack me... :/

I'm pretty sure this is a bug. I get spotted instantly in the starter town but if I try a Technomagi disguise in another area of the map it works. It used to work fine at the starter town but after a save game load the Technomagi disguises no longer work there.

I think rank sometimes comes into play with disguises. Like disguising yourself as a biomancer acolyte works in "low security" biomancer areas, but walk into a higher security biomancer area as an acolyte and they'll still know you're not supposed to be there. You might need armor of a higher station, like biomancer monk.

I'm not entirely sure it works that way or if it's just bugged, but sometimes that seems to be the case.

as long as the icon is on the screen you should be ok but any combat will blow cover and the icon will disappear = no disguise regardless of what youre wearing

i think if you just go away and come back in a while it can settle down and work again

Similar problem here, but having two icons.

I got myself the soldier and the pioneer Technomagi gear. I equipped all 5 parts of one of them. I see the round "little man with hat" icon on the top left side of the screen. But I also see next to it a second round icon that looks like "little man with helmet". Both circles of these icons are blinking. As aresult no disguise is working, all Technomagi attack on sight.

I read in another discussion that there is a cool down if you had been dectetd beforehand. So i fastforwarded some hours, later than days. I quick travelled to other locations, I equipped & unequped the gear several times but nothing is changing. The disguise is still not wotking and the the two icons keep blinking. Can somebody explain me what I'm doing wrong and what these two icons mean? Is it a bug or just me? It's really a shame that the programmers saw no need for a proper manual to look things up. Thanks

One icon - with the helmet - is an icon of a gas mask - it means that your costume provides gas mask. Another one - little man with a hat - is that you are disguised. Both icons (blinking or not) indicate (at least for me) that everything is fine - you are disguised and you can breath in Morthbane (thus gas mask). It's described in text tutorials - but you have to look them up yourself in the "memories" part, I think...

All in all, it seems like a bug. For me, disguise works perfectly well, as long as you don't allow anyone near you or notice you breaking into a door or stealing something. If they see you stealing or otherwise acting suspiciously they immediately get aggro.

Check some youtube videos to see how disguise works?

hi grahor, thanks. Yes I guess it's a bug. I loaded an old savegame before I got myself my first Technomagi disguise. I killed the single technomagi at the visa 3 check point. When I disguised myself afterwrárds the other technomagi guard directly at the check point behaved as expeted. His alert cirlce filled up over time, but he didn't attack on sight.

BUT, when I got back to the starting town and entered the Technomagi HQ no disguise was working (I even tried it afterwards with the Technomagi Pioneer Disguise).

And I still don't know why the icons are blinking. If I would have triggered a cool down, this cool down is not ending anymore (I fastforwarded a couple of days etc.)

I guess it's a bug as many other people are facing similar problems.

Dear DEVELOPERS, please fix this (or explain)! I really love your game but I guess disguising is quite an importantn feature that should work.

The disguise logic and system is dog shi! in this game. If I am wearing a Biomancer acolyte uniform (the one which comes with a full on face mask) then I should not be suspected by anybody, period. But in some cases, it is safer to NOT wear disguise than to do so. Even in safe areas, from far away the disguises get compromised. Lots of things are fked up with this game. The corporate suites of this developing company should have invested more on in-house critiques who could identify these bs ideas.
