Getting one-shot by named enemies in scenario missions
It's pretty reliable that my characters will be taken down in a single hit by any named enemy in a scenario mission. Is this normal, am I supposed to just feed police to them as sacrifices while damaging them from range?

Some enemies like Hasan have overwhelming damage when you first meet them, but it's not normal for every named enemy to one-shot all your units. It means your armour is outdated and you're not making use of defence masteries.

Physical Resistance 2 (Blunt Resistance 2 + Piercing Resistance 2 + Slashing Resistance 2) will make your units a lot more durable. The higher tier version, Physical Resistance 3, is borderline gamebreaking but I don't often find it practical until lategame because of its point cost. Just keep in mind that they do absolutely nothing against ESP users, so mages will continue to be very dangerous. Most enemies in this game are physical so it's easy to forget that.

If you've started fighting wind Spoonists you'll probably have access to Second Wind now (Wind Road + Haze + Wind Wall + Headwind) which is an extremely powerful defensive set for Albus. Great Swordsman can even stack it with physical resistance sets to make him nearly immune to physical damage.

Impulse Fields goes on Anne. Trying to build her with proper defences is almost impossible in my experience.
I don't have any Blunt Resistance 2s, nor does anyone on my troublemaker list drop it from what I can see. Where am I supposed to get these? I'm around level twenty and am trying to build up to the first violent case.

Make them in research. You might need to make Blunt Resistance 1 first to unlock it - all the resistance masteries can be unlocked sequentially like that.
I already have Blunt 1, if I make a second will it unlock Blunt 2?

EDIT: Sure enough it will. Will this time of wonders never cease?
Thank you so much! I ran it back with Physical Resistance 2 and now they're just critting me for half of my health. That I can handle. :tgrin:
blunt I, piece I, and slash I also give physical damage resistance so im just using this. Well i was using them anyway but the extra bonus was welcome 😄

I'm glad I could help. A lot of people accuse this game of being rocket tag because they never slot any actual defences.

Yeah, that's free if you have the slots. The effect is a lot weaker though. Still better than leaving empty defence slots, but you'll probably want to replace them with other masteries by about level 20.
