then open the dev console using the tilde key looks like "~" then type "control timurids" press enter then type "control england". now you just have to wait until the timurids spawn. you can also do this for the mongols.
saving and then reloading as the timurids messes up your campaign and I'm not sure how to get around it
timurids spawn around 120-160 turns in so you'll have to be patient or do something else while you wait. however the mongols spawn only 50-70 turns in so you'll be able to play as them alot faster
retrofit does not replace any files you simply extract the mod's folder to the "mods" folder in your game's directory.
as I told you, if you want to play as the mongols like they are in medieval 2 you have to install that mod, start a hotseat campaign by yourself open the dev console, type "control mongols" and then "control england" and wait
retrofit doesnt even make changes to the game, it's the base game with all the features the kingdoms expansion has
I don't think batch files work on mac, I haven't used mac either so is there shortcuts on mac, if so, make a shortcut of the game's exe and then go into the short cut's properties and paste the contents of the batch file without the "cd ...\..." line
You can start as england, put the command "control england" in, and assuming you have the timurids selected, the game will play out for a long time until the timurids spawn. Then you'll get the armies of the timurids. Once you get them, save and stick the save into your steam save folder.
A game in that mode isn't the most reliable by any means, though. You don't have much army spawn control and I don't think you will see any of the battles that are happening after clicking end turn, making nasty surprises much more likely...
Now this will take until turn 140-149 and even though it might be time taking the timurids are a hell of a fun campaign!
