- Since Beta Release (2017-November) this game had average players online between 103 and 3.177
- In the last 30 days LTD2 has an average of 806 players
The question is how to interpret if the game is dead? For a game beeing dead there are some keyfacts in my opinion:
1. Gameservers are offline, you technically cant play this game anymore
2. There arent enough players for matchmaking to play the game in a proper way, find a game fast enough near to your ranking
3. The developers have abondend the project, there arent enough balance patches/ development/ communications/ events
4. the game isnt fun in longterm. There arent (enough) core players playing the game for a longer time. The actual players are more like a migrating player base which will leave as soon as they burnt the little fun content
Noone of the above 4 points are true for LTD2. -> Not Dead
You seems to be afraid of not finding a proper game in proper time in matchmaking. For ranked you only need to find 3 other players. This is much less than in other games were you often need to find 9. The game duration ist not very long (~15-25 min). Both make it easier and less player needed. In my experience matchmaking finds fast enough fair games.
Vampire Bloodhunt which just killed itself still has 1000 Players.
Vampire survivors has 4400 of players

I'm not saying anything is dead.
But at this rate.
More of people like us(At least 10 people from my community) are going to be playing alot less.
You have competition that cares more than you
Legion TD 2 is bigger and more active now than it was 1 year ago when this thread was first created, which is pretty clear evidence that the game wasn't dead and isn't dead.
Legion TD 2 has around 50,000 monthly active players and 10,000 daily players.
500 is the minimum *concurrent* number of players we drop to during off-hours. On average, there are 830 *concurrent* players online, each day there are 10,000 unique players, and each month there are 50,000 unique players.
We care tremendously about the game and community. As an indie 3-person team, we're not perfect, but we're doing our best :)
We have a big marketing campaign coming soon to grow the player base, so stay tuned!
