Request for Interesting Custom Levels
With the new Level Editor features, there's a ton of possibility for interesting levels. If you have a great idea (and you'd be interested in the level being included in the default map lists), I'd love to see it!

Either just post your ideas here (screenshot, or just a textual description), or upload the level directly to me!

If you want to send a level you've made, you can find them on your hard disk at: (Steam install folder)/steamapps/common/Splody/user/data/levels/ - the Steam install folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam for most of you Windows users. You can upload the .lvl file to me through this link[www.dropbox.com], just make sure to post a comment here so I know to go looking for new files =).

I have uploaded 2 maps:
Duel.1.lvl - 1v1 map. It's all about the double-tapping (i.e. layout all the bombs in a line) the bomb dropping to lock the other person in.
PoloX.1.lvl - 1v1 map. A "Polo"-version on crack.

Interesting levels for 1v1! They probably wouldn't work well for even 4 players, so can't included them in the default map list, but it's probably fine to include them as options for 2 player matches.

I have uploaded 3 maps.
By the way, can I use these UGC for randomly selected course?
I'd like to use them online matches randomly.

Great maps! I've tweaked the spawns a bit on all of the recently submitted maps (to make sure there's at least 16 spawns, and fairly evenly spaced for any number of players), and will included them in the next update. The 1v1/Duel levels will probably not be added to any map list though, just available individually. I could add a "1v1 Duels" map list if there's an interest.

For using them in random map lists, you can, however, they need to be manually tagged for which map list (small/medium/large) on the server - so, if you run a dedicated server, it'll work, but you need to add them to the appropriate list, more details here: http://www.splody.com/docs.html#ompdetails
Wouldn't be too hard to add that to the level editor UI, but this is the first time anyone's asked, as far as I know =)

Thanks for your reply.
I set the tags and my maps appeared in preview while I was in online lobby (even on official servers).
But my maps would not seem to be selected as a play field.
Only for dedicated server mode and even not for LAN mode?
I (and my friends) wish I could play my maps randomly while joining on official servers ...:steamsad:
By the way it worked well in local play perfectly!

There's no difference between "dedicated" or "LAN" mode - for LAN play, someone chooses to run a server, and it uses whatever maps are on that person's hard drive. The preview in the lobby is generated from your local maps, so if they don't match what's on the server, the preview will show maps you have added (or not show maps the server has added), but when the game actually starts, the server is the one who chooses which maps to use (when set to a map list, not a single level). I'll consider ways the client could upload its whole maplist to the server in a session - that would probably be pretty reasonable and would allow your maps to show up in random play - maybe add that in a future update.

Thank you for your kind reply.

So it's a bit strange as I played LAN mode with 15 bots and selected a map list that included my maps but my maps seemed never to be a play field.

Great idea! I hope it will be real.:steamhappy:

Oh, do you mean local (offline) play, not LAN? It should select your levels, maybe you just got unlucky, but I'll double-check nothing's behaving different in offline play.

No no it's not local mode but LAN mode.
As I wanted to start dedicated server but I couldn't open my home rooter's port, I played LAN mode alone with 15 bots (lol

When I played local mode, I could play my map randomly.

Hey guys, sorry for the *incredibly* long delay, but pushing the new maps out got tangled up in finishing the localization system, which is only now (probably) stable enough for release ^_^. Anyway, the 6 maps you guys submitted are now included in the game, thanks a bunch for submitting them!
