The Story (spoilers)

So, after finishing the game, I got the feeling that there is some greater story going on in the background of the game. From what I can piece together, the stickman came from space and landed on earth, and someone is working with it to help put together some strange device that is able to carry the stickman around, and in the end they leave on a boat on an ocean which should not logicly be there. Does anyone have any idea what this could all mean? Also, was there anything important in my summary that I left out?

I disagree, the story and meaning of the game isn't what you physically see, but what it implies.
the stick man is not real but a figment of the main character's imagination, as he imagines and designs all the puzzles.

I think the stickman is the result of some guy's experiments (or an alien, like you said) but the guy was trying to invent a means to teleport, hence the name "long jump". The stickman going through signs helps... somehow
