But I have found a very nice video of extreme conquest which were really helpful.
The top 2 solutions that made the difference were:
1) build 2 warriors right after you have wood and food income and clear as much as possible, instead of saving for Warchief, let them fight til death in order to save food
2) prioritize scouting and get Rangers and Journeyman asap to deal with popularity
With that I was able to finally beat each remaining conquest mission on first try, and almost without starving. Still a very weak clan compared to the others. I also hope they rework the mercenaries once again, the community offered awesome ideas.

It was on normal difficulty, but before taken playstyle changes it felt like extreme^^ (as stated only with Raven)
