Opinion on the Boar Clan, anyone?
Ohoï warchiefs,
There's no gentle way of saying it but... the Boar's relic sucks.

Summon giant boars in every forest once? Alright, sounds cool until it's put into practice. The giant boars are [arguably] easily slain in every clan's territory from what I've seen, and the only time I saw a giant boar actually make a mark was during the rat infestation event where everyone was sick so the giant boar only had to one-shot everyone. And then they're never ever summoned again.

Does anyone else think that's kinda lame?

The Raven Clan can summon two big boys to your shores and attack you. The Dragon can invade your borders with their jotnurr. Both of these can do this as long as their cooldown is finished.

I'm not a Boar Clan main, but I do find it only fair if the Boar can do the same. Why not summon the boars again after a cooldown? Even once a year would be better than only once in a lifetime. The other clans who own large juggernauts do it, so why not the Boar too?

I don't know, those are just my thoughts. What are yours?

I too complained in the past that it's a one time thing to summon Boars. But since then they slapped a passive +5 Food income onto the relic and honestly, i can't complain anymore. I feel if every Relic does the same thing just slightly differently flavoured, they coul be made into a baseline relic or be flat out removed.

The Boar gives you and your allies a huge swing of momentum once. You have to make it count. But even if your opponent can dispatch of the boar easily (wich is not that easy without a sizable population due to the boars regeneration) you still get a farmers worth of food production passively.

And personally i've lost games in the past due to well timed boars. If you lack wood & an army, it's surprisingly easy to loose to a blizzard and a Boar.

So i'd say its at a good spot for a relic. It's not an auto build wich you kinda have to like Gram, but it gives you a neat tactical choice.

Also in som cases if you got either a very forward forest tile or a beach forest tile, they boards can be a nice extra defence against enemies/raven raiders/kraken spectrals

Oop, late. Yeah those are good points, I actually honestly forgot about the +5 bonus. I suppose it also depends on how wise the Boar person is and they may summon the great boars just as the rat infestation happens so everyone is already low on health, or other things that they can use to their advantage such as mid-attack on the enemy borders.

I guess I felt like they got the short end of the stick since the other juggernauts in other clans are still used infinitely, but you're right, these good perks do count. Just gotta use it sparingly unlike the others, no?

I actually never tried that, they can make extra padding in the defense against enemies if they're planned out like that, much harder to break through. I don't think I ever got a good enough spawn point to try it, but I'll definitely experiment with your idea.

The Boar clan is pretty much a single-player clan.
It relies on lore production and not upgrading your buildings.
The relic is only really good if your forests are often attacked by AI.

In multiplayer, the only reason I can see the boar clan being good, is as a support role in a 3v3
